Monitoring data shows that at 7:00 a.m. this morning (August 5), the water level of the Bui River at the Yen Duyet hydrological station (Chuong My district) has dropped below alert level I. The water level of the Tich River is also dropping rapidly, although it is still fluctuating at alert level II.

In the absence of rain like the past two days, the water level on the Bui and Tich rivers is expected to continue to drop rapidly. Along with that, flooding in riverside areas, especially in the two districts of Chuong My and Quoc Oai, is also decreasing rapidly.

Statistics as of this morning (August 5) show that the number of households affected by flooding has decreased to only about 266, mainly concentrated in Chuong My district. Currently, hundreds of households with thousands of people who had to evacuate to ensure safety during the flood have basically returned home.

In recent times, the Hanoi Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee have paid special attention to and closely directed departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts affected by floods to focus on synchronously implementing solutions to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters. The lives of people in flood-affected areas have been fully and promptly ensured.

Deputy Chief of Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Hanoi City, Dao Quang Khai, said that in order to proactively respond to weather and natural disasters, he requested departments, branches and localities to continue to strictly implement the directives of the Central Government and Hanoi City.

In the coming days, in addition to focusing on overcoming the consequences, localities will continue to closely monitor weather and natural disaster developments; prepare forces and means according to the "4 on-site" motto to proactively and promptly respond to possible natural disasters.
