'Common house' connects the community

By effectively promoting the internal strength of the people, taking advantage of State support capital and mobilizing socialization, up to now, most residential areas in Thai Nguyen province have cultural houses serving community activities. This is a space connecting people, contributing to promoting the movement of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Most residential areas of the province have cultural houses serving community activities.

Currently, the whole province has nearly 3,400/3,498 cultural houses (CNH) and sports grounds, of which more than 2,200 CNH and sports grounds meet standards. Most of the CNH, hamlets, villages, and residential groups are operating effectively. This is where meetings are held to deploy the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the people. Also at the CNH, the content of the conventions and village covenants to build a civilized lifestyle are directly built by the people; the Party's policies and new State policies are deployed to the people most fully.

Realizing the meaning and value of cultural houses, when residential areas mobilized people to contribute to the construction, everyone responded in agreement. Sharing with us, Mr. Ma Dinh Trung, Head of Coc Moc Hamlet, Lam Vy Commune shared: Based on the needs of the people, since 2023 the hamlet has built a new standard cultural house. Although the hamlet already has 2 cultural houses, there are not enough seats for people to meet.

With the consensus of the people and the support policy of the State, in the province, many new cultural houses have been built, meeting the meeting needs of the people. However, there are still residential areas where people have difficult material lives and have to rely on the attention and funding of construction from benefactors and the support of the State.

For example, Ban Dinh village, Nghiem Loan commune has 113 households, of which nearly 60% are poor and near-poor households. Thanks to the attention and support of the Central Party Office Trade Union and the Social Policy Bank Trade Union supporting 500 million VND, the local government supporting nearly 170 million VND, by early 2025, Ban Dinh had a standard cultural house.

In Pan Xa village, Van Lang commune, there has been a new cultural house for the past 7 months. The “common house” of the people in the particularly difficult economic area of Pan Xa, covering 116 square meters, was built by the Ministry of National Defense and given to the people at a total cost of more than 500 million VND.

Most of the existing cultural houses have basically met the requirements of area, with a stage, slogans, national flag, a picture of President Ho Chi Minh, a podium, a loudspeaker system and enough seats for people to meet. Thanks to that, people have favorable conditions for community activities, organizing meetings, exercising and participating in healthy recreational activities. This not only contributes to improving the spiritual life of the people, but also strengthens solidarity and promotes local cultural identity.

Sharing with us, Mr. Ly Quy Song, a prestigious elder in Goc Thi hamlet, Nam Hoa commune said: The Cultural House is a place to connect people through cultural, artistic and sports activities. There, people can exchange, educate community awareness and satisfy their spiritual needs.

Mr. Ha Van Nang, a member of the Phan Dinh Phung Ward Sports Club, said: Thanks to the Cultural House and sports playground, our people have the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and exercise every day. Through that, we can exchange and share experiences in economic development, maintain family happiness, and actively participate in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life".

The investment in the construction of cultural houses has contributed to improving the spiritual life of the people. Moreover, cultural houses have become a trusted address for the community to preserve, transmit and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation. This is also a place where people can access knowledge about sustainable poverty reduction, improve their behavioral skills, and protect themselves from traps in cyberspace, thereby contributing to maintaining security and social order.
