Thai Foreign Minister visits Saudi Arabia, economy is the focus

According to Thai PBS , the delegation accompanying Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai includes representatives from both the public and private sectors on a visit to Saudi Arabia to promote bilateral cooperation and enhance investment and trade cooperation.

A statement from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the visit from June 6-10 at the invitation of Saudi Arabia's Minister of Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Mr. Don Pramudwinai is expected to attend meetings with the Foreign Minister, Governor of the Public Investment Fund, Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Meanwhile, senior executives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries and the Thai Bankers Association, along with leading representatives of the Thai private sector, will also meet with the Saudi private sector to network and explore potential business partnerships.

The roundtable between the Thai and Saudi private sectors will focus on green energy, petrochemical industry, construction materials and packaging, agriculture, food, tourism and healthcare, among other areas, a source from Thai PBS said.

Thailand and Saudi Arabia normalized relations in January last year after more than 30 years of frozen relations. Since then, the two countries have increased cooperation in all areas, especially economics and investment.
