Tomorrow, Hanoi will consider bonus levels for excellent national and international students.

(Dan Tri) - According to the draft, Hanoi students who win gold medals in international Olympic cultural subjects will be awarded 250 million VND.

The Hanoi City People's Council will consider regulations on bonus levels for teachers and students with high achievements in city, national and international competitions and exams tomorrow morning, December 10.

If approved, Hanoi will officially have its own bonus level like Ho Chi Minh City has done since 2021 and Hai Phong has done since 2018.

According to the draft, the Hanoi People's Committee proposed the maximum bonus for students winning gold medals in international Olympic competitions to be 250 million VND.

The following prizes are reduced by 50 million VND. Specifically, the silver medal is 200 million VND, the bronze medal is 150 million VND, and the consolation prize is 100 million VND.

For regional Olympic competitions, gold medalists will be awarded 150 million VND. Silver, bronze and consolation medals will be awarded 120 million VND, 90 million VND and 50 million VND respectively.

These international and regional exams must be attended by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) or authorized by the Department of Education and Training (DOET).

Compared to Ho Chi Minh City, the highest bonus proposed by Hanoi is 50 million VND higher.

For national excellent students, the rewards for first, second, third and consolation prizes are 50 million VND, 40 million VND, 30 million VND and 20 million VND respectively.

Students who win first prize in the city-level excellent student competition are proposed to receive a high reward of 10 million VND for junior high school and 15 million VND for high school.

In addition, the draft also proposes to award 50 million VND to students who win the Road to Olympia Championship.

Notably, ethnic minority and disabled students who achieve the above achievements will receive a bonus of 1.5 times higher.

In case a student is both an ethnic minority and a disabled person, the bonus will be doubled.

The draft also stipulates that the bonus for teachers is equal to 70% of the bonus for students.

The funding source for implementing the above policy is taken from the city budget and is arranged in the annual education expenditure estimate assigned to the Department of Education and Training according to the provisions of the State Budget Law.
