During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh visited Quang Ninh 9 times and had special affection for workers and officials of the coal industry. Remembering Uncle Ho's advice, generations of workers and officials of the coal industry have constantly strived to compete in labor production, actively learning and following Uncle Ho.
Pursuant to Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW (dated May 18, 2021) of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW (dated May 15, 2016) of the 12th Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle , the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee focuses on leading and directing the implementation of studying and following Uncle Ho throughout the Party.
In production labor, there are millions of initiatives and improvements, contributing to increasing productivity, reducing costs, and the team of miners constantly improving their expertise and skills. A typical example is the Head of the Production Team, Basic Construction Site 2 (Ha Lam Coal Joint Stock Company) Pham Duc An, who has dedicated 25 years to the Coal industry. With experience and enthusiasm, Mr. An is always at the forefront of all work, wholeheartedly instructing new workers on working skills. He is also the one who "lights the fire" for his colleagues about the spirit of "Discipline and Unity". For miner Pham Duc An, Uncle Ho's advice and his last wishes in the Will when talking about the working people are the motivation for him and his colleagues in the production team to strive to overcome all difficulties and obstacles, to excellently complete their tasks, and to be a typical unit of the company. Mr. Pham Duc An was honored to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal and a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister.
In the context of the coal industry facing great challenges, increasingly depleted resources, and increasingly high requirements for safety and environment, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is the driving force that helps TKV units overcome difficulties and fulfill annual production and business goals and targets. Thereby, contributing to promoting the tradition and strength of "Discipline and Unity" of the mining working class and Quang Ninh province.
At Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in the first 2 years of its term, the company focused the entire political system and expertise to create a combined strength to help overcome common difficulties. The company's Party Committee promptly issued many documents directing safe and flexible adaptation to maintain stable production organization. Not only affected by the pandemic, storm No. 3 in 2024 also caused many serious consequences for the company's architectural works. The company's Party Committee directed political organizations and units, departments and divisions to promptly overcome the consequences, quickly restore equipment, helping the company's production activities to stabilize soon.
With the efforts of the collective and employees under the direction of the Party Committee of the company, in the period of 2020-2024, the main production targets of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company exceeded the resolution. In particular, coal consumption was 9.17 million tons, reaching 101%; revenue was 14,528 billion VND, reaching 105%; average income per capita was over 16.7 million VND/month, reaching 106%; especially the profit target was 325.5 billion VND, reaching 192%.
Over the years, TKV's coal mining output has been constantly increasing, reaching about 40-45 million tons of clean coal each year. The material and spiritual life of workers has been improved. TKV has become a strong economic group. With these outstanding achievements, the Group was honored to be awarded the Gold Star Order by the Party and the State (in 1996) and the title of Hero of Labor in the Renovation Period (in 2005) along with many other noble awards.
These results have affirmed that the cadres, party members and workers of the Coal industry have been inheriting and promoting the historical values and heroic revolutionary fighting traditions of the mining workers and previous generations, turning Uncle Ho's advice and wishes: "Promote the Coal industry to become a model industry for other economic sectors and Quang Ninh province to become a rich and beautiful province..." into reality.
