The exhibition displays 30 abstract landscape and nature photos, attracting viewers' attention with aerial shots from 500m or 1,000m above ground from a flycam. Viewers mistakenly think many photos are paintings.
This solo exhibition is also an award by Noirfoto for Hoang Le Giang - the author who won the special prize of Noirfotocontest2024.
Breath of nature through each photo
Hoang Le Giang shared with Tuoi Tre Online that he has been pursuing photography for 15 years and owns more than 120,000 photos. He started taking photos with a flycam in the last 5 years. Each photo not only captures the scenery but also the breath of a moment that cannot be captured again.
“Giang often records views of nature during the transitional seasons, the intersection of ecosystems on lake shores, river mouths, or sea estuaries. In these intersections, the landscape is very messy but colorful,” Hoang Le Giang added.
The 30 photos at the exhibition were taken by Hoang Le Giang over the years, in Mongolia, Tibet, India, Iran, Norway... and even the Arctic region.
Hoang Le Giang said that each trip lasted about 2 weeks and he only took 2,000 photos. He also asked what he would do with the photos taken over the past few decades. If he took 50,000 photos on a trip, how many photos would he have 10 years later and there would be a lot of interchangeable photos.
That's why he has a habit of taking pictures during the day, looking at them on his computer at night and deleting unnecessary pictures. Many people say this habit is not good.
“Giang thinks that if he can’t manage his photos, keeping them is meaningless. Giang stores them according to each trip and when he needs to find a photo, he always remembers what he took on that trip and can easily find it,” Hoang Le Giang explained.

Capture the moment of sunshine and wind in every photo
The difference in Hoang Le Giang's photos is that he finds unique moments and perspectives through each photo, which is the combination of sun and wind. Before taking photos, he flies the flycam high to get a wider, more open view, to find the shooting angle.
From those angles, he can capture photos that look like a color streak or an oil painting...
"It's common for a drone to crash. A drone falls in the mountains or in the forest, and Giang tries to find it because he doesn't want to leave behind "trash". What Giang regrets most when he can't find his drone is the data in the device" - Hoang Le Giang confided.
Bardo Exhibition - The Middle World , at Lotus Gallery (Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Tan Thuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) is open to the public from 9am - 6pm, starting from August 18 to 31.
Hoang Le Giang was born in 1998 and has traveled to more than 50 countries and territories, from the North Pole to the Sahara desert, from the Himalayas to Iceland.
At first, Hoang Le Giang only used a camera to capture beautiful scenes for his family to see, but it gradually became a passion, so he invested in cameras and gradually upgraded them.
He graduated with a degree in international business in Sweden and has worked in advertising, media, and technology.
