The above is an excerpt from the thank you letter of comrade Ngoc Kim Nam, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, sent to the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 after the voyage that took place in mid-June. This is the second voyage in 2025, Coast Guard Region 1 coordinated with localities, agencies, and businesses to survey and grasp the situation of the seas and islands in the management area.

During the 4 days, the delegation visited Hon Me Island (Thanh Hoa), Bach Long Vi Island (Hai Phong) and Co To Island (Quang Ninh); discussed with local leaders, surveyed the implementation of socio -economic development projects, ensured national security, order and safety at sea, developed the marine economy and prevented and combated illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. The delegation presented nearly 200 gifts to civil-political-party agencies, the armed forces, families in difficult circumstances and students who overcame difficulties to excel in the places they visited.
Stopping at the island points, the working group on the CSB 8004 ship divided into many groups with the participation of local officials who visited each fishing boat of fishermen to kindly inquire, encourage the fishermen and propagate the regulations of the law when fishing at sea, especially the regulations on preventing and combating IUU. The working groups also presented many gifts and hundreds of national flags to the fishermen.

Holding the national flag and gift bag given by the delegation, Mr. Le Pha, a fisherman from Quang Binh province, emotionally shared: “My fellow crew members and I have been working in Bach Long Vi since the beginning of the year and have not returned yet. Today, we are very happy to receive the comrades’ propaganda, gifts, and national flags, and will be determined to strictly comply with the State’s regulations and not exploit seafood illegally.”
Major General Tran Van Hau, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 1, head of the working delegation, said: The survey trip to grasp the situation of coastal seas and islands has contributed to building and strengthening the relationship of solidarity between the army and the people; solidarity between the Vietnam Coast Guard in general, Coast Guard Region 1 in particular, and the Party committees, authorities and people of coastal localities. Thereby, strengthening patriotism, love for the sea and islands, raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and localities for the task of protecting the sovereignty and security of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, contributing with the Vietnam Coast Guard to maintain law enforcement and protect national security, order and safety at sea in the new situation.
