Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí22/03/2025

(Dan Tri) - It was thought that the chance to live had opened up for Vinh when the doctors tried to save him, his family took care of him wholeheartedly and readers joined hands to help, but his illness was too severe, the 16-year-old male student could not survive.

According to information from Bach Mai Hospital, male student Nguyen Tuan Vinh, the character in the article "Bach Mai Hospital doctor calls for help to save male student in critical condition due to septic shock", passed away at 8:15 p.m. on March 21, a few minutes after being taken home from the hospital.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh, an officer of the Social Work Department, said that after the article about Vinh's situation was published, many Dan Tri readers called, visited and joined hands to support the family, helping them have funds to continue treatment.

Despite the efforts of doctors and nurses to save him, the devoted care of his family, and the help of Dan Tri readers and philanthropists, Nguyen Tuan Vinh's illness was too severe and he could not overcome his fate (Photo: Huong Hong).

But while hope was just beginning to shine, Vinh could not overcome his fate, even though the doctors tried their best to save him.

In April 2024, Vinh was diagnosed with acute leukemia and had to be admitted to the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion for treatment.

In May 2024, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung (Vinh's father) suddenly vomited blood and fainted. Doctors had to remove a large tumor and 3/4 of his stomach to save his life.

The debt of hundreds of millions of dong borrowed to treat the father and son's illness has not yet been paid. On March 6, Vinh fell ill again and had to be admitted to Bach Mai Hospital due to septic shock, pneumonia, fungal infection, and multiple organ failure on the basis of acute leukemia.

With a broken voice, Mr. Hung confided to us over the phone: "Thanks to the help of Dan Tri readers and philanthropists, the family had the funds to continue treating the child. But due to unexpected developments, the child passed away."

Before hanging up the phone to take care of the funeral, Mr. Hung would like to thank the medical staff of Bach Mai Hospital, Dan Tri readers, and philanthropists who have been by his family's side over the past time. Thanks to that, Vinh's final moments were lived in the love and sharing of many readers.

Dan Tri Newspaper would like to share the painful loss of the family and would like to announce that we will stop accepting support for code 5507.

Sincerely thank you, dear readers, for always caring, accompanying, sharing and supporting!
