According to Corriere dello Sport , MU wants to end this long-running transfer deal by requiring Sancho and his agent to agree to an offer from Roma. The Serie A representative is also the only team that wants to welcome Sancho before the summer transfer window closes.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini is still hopeful of completing the deal. After the match against Bologna in the first round of Serie A on August 24, he affirmed: "Sancho never said no to Roma".

Not only MU, Roma is also in a difficult situation. Corriere dello Sport said Roma set a deadline for Sancho on August 27. In case the deal falls through, the Rome club will quickly switch to another target to strengthen the attack.

MU expects to collect 18 million euros in transfer fees, plus bonuses, if they sell Sancho to Roma. The English midfielder is also asked to take a pay cut to play in Italy.

Borussia Dortmund, Sancho's former club, are also considering a possible reunion with the midfielder. But the Bundesliga club has not made any official move to MU.

Last season, Roma finished Serie A in 5th place and qualified for the Europa League.

Mainoo's reaction when he was continuously crossed out On the night of August 24, Kobbie Mainoo bowed his head in disappointment because he was not allowed to play when MU was held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham in round 2 of the 2025/26 Premier League.
