Meta invested $14.3 billion in Scale AI to accelerate the superintelligence race. However, signs of a rift emerged as several leaders from Scale AI left Meta early.
Ruben Mayer, former VP of Scale AI, has left after just two months on the job, TechCrunch has learned. Meta Superintelligence Labs also partnered with Mercor and Surge, the source said.
This is notable because these two companies are Scale AI's biggest competitors. Some internal researchers also rated data from Scale AI as poor quality. Meanwhile, Scale AI has just laid off 200 employees amid the loss of a major contract.
The future of Meta-Scale AI collaboration remains open, raising many questions about AI strategy. Dear readers, please watch more videos : From January 1, 2026, digital products created by AI must have identification marks | Nhan Dan Newspaper
