Previously, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that this MacBook model will be equipped with an A18 Pro processor, instead of the M series chip commonly found on current Mac products. The A18 Pro chip is the processor currently used on the iPhone 16 Pro line.
In performance tests using the Geekbench application, the A18 Pro chip scored around 3,500 points in single-core, just slightly lower than the M4 chip in the Mac Mini model.
However, the multi-core score has a significant difference: the A18 Pro chip reaches about 8,780 multi-core points, while the M4 chip has nearly double the performance with 15,000 multi-core points.
This low-cost MacBook model is expected to go into mass production in late Q4/2025 or early Q1/2026. The product will offer many color options, including silver, rose gold and gold.
Kuo also said that this product line will have a 13-inch screen size, similar to the current MacBook Air models. Most likely, Apple will reuse the MacBook Air design to optimize research and development costs.
Apple is reportedly planning to produce around 5-7 million units by 2026, which would make up a significant portion of total Mac shipments. The main goal of this product line is to attract users with an accessible price point, expanding Apple's customer base in the laptop segment.
