A sophisticated phishing campaign is quietly releasing 20 fake cryptocurrency wallet Android apps on Google Play. These apps have an identical interface to the official version, requiring users to enter a 12-word wallet recovery phrase (mnemonic phrase).
By simply doing so, users have given complete control of their digital assets to hackers without even knowing it. The list of impersonated names includes many familiar names such as Pancake Swap, Suiet Wallet, Hyperliquid, Raydium, Hyperliquid, BullX Crypto, OpenOcean Exchange, Meteora Exchange, SushiSwap, Harvest Finance blog.
Hackers even take over reputable developer accounts to post apps, making it easy for users to lose their guard. Cyble has published detailed package names (identifiers) of each application for users to check and remove from their devices. Experts recommend that users never enter their wallet recovery phrase into a strange application, even if it is downloaded from a legitimate source.
