Fairy Mountain and Hoang Nguu Son in Nha Trang ( Khanh Hoa ) have recently become "hot" destinations attracting many tourists who want to conquer. However, this place is also famous for its rugged, complex terrain, steep slopes and many difficult-to-recognize trails, so getting lost is very easy to happen.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to preside over the development of the project "Developing the Co Tien Mountain Trekking Tourist Site" to exploit the local potential; as a legal basis for exploitation to serve the people and attract tourists safely.

According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Co Tien mountain area has about 275.3 hectares of planted forest and more than 301.7 hectares of unforested area. The activities of local people and tourists in the area are spontaneous, there is no governing body, so when tourists have problems, it will be difficult to coordinate support.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Hong Nguyen, Vice President of Khanh Hoa Travel Association, admitted that it is very difficult for authorities to manage spontaneous tourists who go exploring and trekking. Mountain climbing spots in Nha Trang such as Co Tien Mountain, Hoang Nguu Son... have not yet been put into tourism exploitation, and travel companies have not yet implemented this tour. "Building a systematic management regulation for this activity not only protects tourists but also sustainably develops adventure tourism in Khanh Hoa," he said.

Representatives of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police advise residents and tourists:

What to do to avoid getting lost when climbing mountains?

- The first thing to note is the weather. The weather can change unexpectedly, especially during the rainy season. A heavy rain can make the roads slippery, fog can cause confusion, or flash floods can be dangerous.

- Limit going down the mountain at night for those who are inexperienced. Darkness significantly reduces visibility, the risk of getting lost, slipping, or encountering wild animals is very high. Must be equipped with knowledge of first aid in case of snake bites, bee stings, etc.

- You should travel in groups, bring GPS devices, flashlights, spare batteries, first aid kits and enough drinking water. More importantly, always inform your relatives of your specific schedule and contact the authorities immediately in case of an incident.

- Risk of forest fires due to carelessness. Currently, Khanh Hoa is in the transitional season, the dry weather can easily lead to forest fires. A small spark or a carelessly thrown cigarette can also cause a large-scale forest fire disaster. Therefore, lighting fires in the forest is strictly prohibited.
