On the morning of June 29, in Da Nang, the Organizing Committee of DANAFF III held a press conference before the opening ceremony that took place in the evening of the same day. The event was organized by Da Nang City in coordination with the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA), aiming to honor outstanding cinematographic works in the region, while discovering, nurturing and encouraging young talents of Vietnamese and Asia- Pacific cinema.
Speaking at the press conference, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that DANAFF is gradually affirming its position as a regional film event, and at the same time, a bridge to bring the image of Da Nang closer to international friends. The city government will create all favorable conditions for the festival to take place successfully, safely and impressively.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, President of VFDA, said that at DANAFF III this time, two key programs are especially expected. The first is the program "Imprints of Vietnamese films on the theme of war", introducing typical works produced over the 50 years since the country's reunification. In addition to enjoying valuable works again, the audience also has the opportunity to meet veteran artists who have contributed to the achievements of war films and Vietnamese cinema in general. This is also the first time a large number of war films have been collected and screened in one festival.

The second is the "Korean Cinema Spotlight" program, which selects 14 typical works produced from the 1960s to the present, within the framework of the program "Korean Cinema's Marks Through Time". This is an opportunity for Vietnamese audiences to access classic Korean films, many of which have never been shown in Vietnam.
Talking about the positive impact of the event on the city's tourism brand positioning, Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice President of the Da Nang Tourism Association, emphasized that with the participation of hundreds of international guests, DANAFF is not only a simple cultural event, but also an important milestone in the journey to elevate the brand of "city of festivals and events" of Da Nang. Activities within the framework of DANAFF contribute to building a vibrant cultural space, attracting visitors in depth and creating long-term spreading value for the image of Da Nang tourism.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's DANAFF III marks a breakthrough in terms of scale, duration and depth of content. In addition to traditional programs such as the opening, closing and award ceremonies, DANAFF III also introduces many new contents such as: "half a century of Vietnamese war films", "Korean cinema spotlight", "panorama of Asian cinema", and the event "DANAFF talents - promising cinema talents".
This year’s film screening program features 106 works, with 184 screenings at cinema complexes. All screenings are free, creating conditions for the public to access quality regional and international cinematographic works.
In the competition film category, the festival introduced 14 Asian films nominated by domestic and foreign film organizations. In addition, 12 Vietnamese feature films also competed.
The award structure of DANAFF III is richly designed to honor the best individuals and works. The Asian film category has the following awards: Best Film, Special Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay.
The Vietnamese film category includes: Best Film, Special Award, Awards for Best Director, Best Actor and Best Screenplay. In addition, there are: NETPAC Award for Best Vietnamese Film voted by an international jury; Audience Award for Most Favorite Vietnamese Film; Cinema Achievement Award for individuals with outstanding contributions to regional cinema; and Young Critics Award for Best Asian Film in the "Asian Cinema Panorama" program.
