Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 378/QD-BVHTTDL on February 21, 2024 on recognizing the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List for the Traditional Boat Racing Festival in Tinh Long Commune, Quang Ngai City, Quang Ngai Province.

According to the decision, the Chairman of the People's Committee at all levels where intangible cultural heritage is included in the List is required, within the scope of his/her duties and powers, to carry out state management in accordance with the provisions of law on cultural heritage.

The boat racing festival in Tinh Long is a unique cultural feature of the people living along the Tra Khuc River, which has existed for hundreds of years and has profound cultural and religious significance.

This is not only a simple sport to demonstrate muscle strength or entertainment, but also a cultural and religious activity with profound humanistic meaning to pray for national peace and prosperity, for favorable weather, for good fields and gardens, for people and families to be happy, prosperous and happy. Through this festival, we call for solidarity, arouse the movement of physical exercise and sports in general and boat racing in particular.
