Greenland's government leader Mute Egede today, March 24, accused the US of interfering in the territory's political affairs with the upcoming visit of an American delegation, according to AFP.
The White House announced on March 23 that Usha Vance, wife of US Vice President JD Vance, will visit Greenland this week with her son and a US delegation that Mr. Egede said would include US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, according to AFP.

"It must be made clear that our integrity and democracy must be respected without foreign interference," Mr. Egede stressed, adding that the visit by the US delegation, scheduled for March 27-29, "cannot be considered just a private visit."
There is currently no information about the US reaction to Mr. Egede's statement.
Since returning to the White House in January, Donald Trump has stressed that he wants the US to take over Greenland and has not even ruled out the use of force to achieve his goal, according to AFP.
Mr Egede said the US had been told there would be “no negotiations” until a new Greenland government was formed after elections on 11 March.
Jens-Frederik Nielsen, the leader of the centre-right Democratic Party that won the election and is likely to become Greenland's future leader, has previously criticised Mr Trump's move on Greenland as "inappropriate".
"We must unite and protest against this unacceptable treatment. Because we are the ones who decide our own future," Mr. Egede stressed.
According to polls, most Greenlanders support independence from Denmark and reject annexation by the United States.
President Trump's son Donald Jr also made an hours-long visit to Greenland in early January. Greenland holds huge untapped oil and mineral reserves, although oil and uranium exploration is banned, according to AFP.
