Journalist Nguyen Khac Tiep was born in 1923, from Hung Yen. After the August Revolution in 1945, he became a soldier in Zone 10 (Northwest Zone). With his education and natural talent, in his unit, he actively wrote news and articles about events where he went, and then became one of the first reporters for the Vietnam News Agency. When the National Defense Newspaper and the Guerrilla Newspaper merged into the People's Army Newspaper, he was selected and became a reporter for the People's Army Newspaper from that day. Journalist Pham Phu Bang, born in 1919, came from a famous family: His paternal grandfather was the Minister of War Pham Phu Thu, who was the Governor of Hai Yen (including 4 provinces: Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Yen) under the Nguyen Dynasty. His father was Dr. Pham Phu Tiet, Governor of Binh Phu (Binh Dinh and Phu Yen), who was promoted to Colonel by Uncle Ho, and became Chief Justice of the Military Court of the South. Pham Phu Bang joined the main force unit in Hue when he was not yet 15 years old. With the desire to continue holding guns to protect the country, when the Hue front was broken at the end of 1945, he followed the Southern army to fight for many years on the battlefields of South Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands, as a company commander. In 1950, when the People's Army Newspaper was established, he was summoned from the sunny Central region to work as a reporter.
In particular, two veteran journalists were directly involved in writing 33 issues of the newspaper during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and were honored to receive the 75-year Party membership badge from the Party and State.
