On the morning of June 9, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Dong Xoai Victory (June 9, 1965 - June 9, 2025).
The Dong Xoai victory - a typical battle in the summer campaign of 1965, contributed to the bankruptcy of the "Special War" strategy of the US imperialists. The Dong Xoai victory demonstrated the scientific and creative military thinking of our army under the leadership of the Party, leaving many valuable lessons and experiences in military art.
Today, Dong Xoai City has been constantly developing and achieving many outstanding achievements in many fields. The city's economy has continuously grown at a high rate, averaging over 15% annually. The urbanization rate is quite fast, the appearance of a young city is increasingly developing; cultural and social fields have continuously had many strong changes; national defense and security work has been maintained stably; Party building and political system building have achieved many results.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Tran Tuyet Minh, Vice Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee expressed gratitude for the great contributions of the cadres, soldiers, army and people of Dong Xoai who bravely fought and sacrificed to contribute to the fiery victory of Dong Xoai 60 years ago.
At the same time, expressing confidence in the heroic historical tradition, solidarity and creativity, Dong Xoai City will continue to develop strongly. In particular, when the 2-level government model is in operation, the new administrative units of this city after the arrangement will still maintain their position as one of the cores of economic, cultural and social development, leading the urbanization process and sustainable development in the Northwest region of the new Dong Nai province.
Before that, the delegates offered incense, flowers and observed a minute of silence to respectfully commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who fell in the cause of defending the Fatherland and gaining independence and freedom for the nation at the National Historical Site of “Dong Xoai Victory Site”. The delegates expressed their gratitude to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on Dong Xoai land in the battle exactly 60 years ago, creating the victory of “Dong Xoai blazing with heroic feats”.
