Son My Industrial Park project in Son My commune, Lam Dong province (formerly Binh Thuan ) with a scale of over 1,000 hectares, is divided into 2 investment phases.
The first phase from 2018 to 2020: focuses on compensation and site clearance and investment in infrastructure construction of 615.25 hectares.
Phase 2 from 2021 to the end of 2025: compensation for site clearance and investment in infrastructure construction of 454.75 hectares.
Currently, in Son My 1 Industrial Park, there are 3 "huge" secondary projects approved for investment with a scale of 156,123 hectares and registered investment capital of 5.4 billion USD.
The project was leased land for the first time by the People's Committee of the former Binh Thuan province from August 2022, with an area of nearly 77 hectares. The investor completed the construction permit procedures and organized the groundbreaking ceremony from the end of August 2022.
However, according to the Department of Finance of Lam Dong province, up to now, the Son My 1 Industrial Park project has not yet been implemented due to many difficulties and problems, mainly land clearance.
The Department believes that the land acquisition and site clearance compensation for the project is still slow. Of these, 7 organizations (covering an area of 226.86 hectares) have not agreed with the compensation plan and have filed a lawsuit with the Provincial People's Court.
According to the Department of Finance of Lam Dong province, in the near future, Son My commune will coordinate with the Regional Land Fund Development Center to provide complete documents of 7 organizations as requested by the court (if any).
After the court's judgment, the locality will implement it, including developing an enforcement plan if it has fully implemented the policies as prescribed.
For households in the 375ha area, the locality coordinates with the investor to invite compensation and support payments.
At the same time, Son My commune must speed up compensation and site clearance for the remaining area (608.21 hectares) to hand over the site to the investor to synchronously implement infrastructure construction.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance and related units to support and guide Son My commune in determining specific land prices, compensation, support, resettlement, site clearance, and land recovery.
Recently, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi made a field survey of coastal industrial park projects, including Son My 1 Industrial Park project.
During the inspection, Mr. Muoi informed the investors that the survey trip also included leaders of departments and branches to grasp the actual information.
Thereby, the province will direct departments and branches to coordinate with localities to remove difficulties and obstacles, especially in compensation, site clearance, determining specific land prices, and approving compensation plans for affected cases.
