Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong, said that from now until the end of 2025, Hai Phong strives to attract over 14 million tourists. In particular, preserving and promoting the value of world heritages is a key solution.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong consulted with the City People's Committee on coordinating with Quang Ninh province in managing the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago, and cooperating in opening tourist boat routes on the bay to develop tourism.
The sector also advises on tasks to continue preserving and promoting the value of the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage on July 12. At the same time, the sector is working on building a scientific dossier to propose UNESCO to honor Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem.
A specific task to promote the value of world heritage is to organize the Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2025, scheduled to take place from October 1-11 (ie August 10-20 of the lunar calendar).
This is the first festival after the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage in the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac complex.
This year's festival is associated with important events commemorating the 725th death anniversary of National Hero Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and the 583rd death anniversary of World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai.
The highlight of the festival is the live art program "Uy linh Kiep Bac - Con Son", the festival space extends to Luc Dau River, applying lighting technology and virtual reality.
Along with that is a series of cultural and artistic activities such as the Festival of Saint Performances, the Peace Prayer Ceremony and the Lantern Festival; the Procession Ceremony, the Sacrificial Ceremony, and the Death Anniversary of Saint Tran. This is an opportunity for domestic and foreign tourists to experience the unique cultural space of the Con Son-Kiep Bac Special National Monument, contributing to promoting the image of Hai Phong as a city with cultural depth, history and dynamism to domestic and international friends.
Along with that, Hai Phong continues to focus on exploiting the strengths of marine tourism resources in Do Son and Cat Ba, especially in effectively promoting the potential and strengths of the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago.
The city continues to introduce the image of Cat Ba to tourists through international events, investors, and foreign diplomats.
In July 2025, Hai Phong successfully organized the 3rd APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC 3) with the participation of about 1,300 delegates, mostly international guests. During the conference, the spouses of the delegates visited Cat Ba, expressed their excitement about the poetic, peaceful, and outstanding space of Cat Ba and shared that they would continue to introduce the image of Cat Ba to everyone.
Ms. Flavia Bueno (Peru) said that Cat Ba has a very different beauty and is one of the most beautiful places in the world she has ever visited. When she returns to her homeland, she will introduce Cat Ba and Hai Phong to her relatives and friends.
The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong said that in the first 7 months of 2025, Hai Phong tourism continued to develop strongly. The city welcomed about 9.377 million tourists, an increase of 29.78% over the same period, contributing positively to the city's socio-economic development. This is the result of effective promotional strategies and diversity in tourism products.
The industry organized the Hai Phong Delicious Food Festival, attracting nearly 25,000 visitors, more than 40 press and media agencies, social networking platforms and KOLs reporting and sharing about the program, creating a widespread spread, leaving many good impressions and experiences for people and tourists coming to the city, contributing to raising the culinary brand here.../.
