Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that in the first 6 months of the year, under the direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, officers and soldiers of the entire army always promoted the glorious tradition and good qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; contributing to political and social stability, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested to continue to perform well the function of strategic advisory to the Party and State on military and national defense. Be proactive, sensitive, improve research capacity, closely forecast developments in the world and region, assess impacts on Vietnam, have flexible and effective response and handling strategies for situations, and resolutely not be passive or surprised in terms of strategy, military and national defense.
Focus on research and development of theoretical thinking and military art, successfully responding to all types of war in new conditions. Effectively deploy strategies, plans, projects, and legal systems on military and national defense.
At the same time, thoroughly grasp the viewpoint of relying on the people, the people are the root, the center, the subject so that the entire army can well implement the policy of all-people national defense and people's war. Continue to well perform the core role in building and consolidating all-people national defense, "people's hearts and minds"; further promote the participation of the entire political system.
The Prime Minister noted the need to further improve the policy of combining national defense with the economy. Coordinate the implementation of solutions to build solid defense for military regions and defense zones at all levels; focus on training and fostering military commanders, ensuring the operation of commune-level military commands.
Perform civil defense tasks well, effectively respond to non-traditional security challenges, especially natural disaster prevention, overcoming consequences, and search and rescue. Actively and proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and other forces to prevent and combat crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, especially counterfeit drugs and fake foods, to maintain political security and social order and safety.
On the afternoon of July 2, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Ali Ijaz Ahmad, Chairman and General Director and leading associates of Makara Capital Partners Group (Singapore) who are researching and promoting investment in Vietnam .
Welcoming Makara Capital's interest in, search for, investment promotion and business cooperation in Vietnam in the coming time, the Prime Minister said that the areas that the group is interested in such as pharmaceutical - biological industry and International Financial Center are all priorities of Vietnam for fast, green and sustainable development. The Prime Minister suggested that the group soon decide to invest and expand investment in Vietnam , especially in the areas that Vietnam is prioritizing development, and affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is committed to accompanying and creating favorable conditions for the group to invest and do business effectively and successfully in Vietnam , ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of investors based on three basic principles: legalization, marketization and internationalization of regulations.
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Bird on the occasion of the Ambassador's beginning his term of office in Vietnam .
