Speaking at the festival, Secretary of Nam Giang District Party Committee - Le Van Huong emphasized that the festival is an opportunity to honor traditional cultural values, strengthen national solidarity, and promote the unique tangible and intangible cultural identities of ethnic groups such as Co Tu, Ve, Ta Rieng, Kinh, Tay, Muong... living in the western borderland of Quang Nam .
Over the past 76 years of formation and development, the Party Committee of Nam Giang district has directed and led the locality to achieve many outstanding achievements in many fields. Especially in the renovation period, many large projects of dynamic nature such as Ho Chi Minh National Highway, 14B, 14D, Truong Son Dong, Nam Giang International Border Gate, Song Bung Hydropower Plant, Xuan Thanh Cement Factory... have contributed to fundamentally changing the appearance of the highlands.
Essential infrastructure is invested synchronously; socio-economic development; people's lives are gradually improved; the poverty rate is decreasing year by year. By the end of 2024, Ta Bhing and La Dee communes will be recognized as meeting new rural standards.
In the context of strong transformation, Nam Giang district is implementing the rearrangement of administrative units according to the two-level local government model. Accordingly, district-level agencies will cease operations on June 30, 2025, and from July 1, 2025, new communes will be formed.
This is considered an important step, opening up new development space, aiming to improve effectiveness and efficiency in management and operation, and develop the economy and society quickly and sustainably.
"The cultural festival is not only an opportunity for people to review the glorious revolutionary tradition, but also a unique cultural playground, where the sound of gongs and cymbals resonates in the Truong Son mountains and forests, where folk artists are sublimated and the young generation loves and is proud of their homeland more" - Mr. Huong emphasized.
According to Mr. Le Van Huong, in the future, although the administrative name will change, the love of the land and people of Nam Giang - the source of culture and revolutionary history will last forever. At the same time, he called on all ethnic groups in the district to continue to unite, promote internal strength and revolutionary spirit to build the homeland of Nam Giang increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
The Nam Giang District Ethnic Culture Festival took place on June 21 and 22, with a variety of activities such as: Traditional cultural performances, local product displays, ethnic sports competitions and mass art competitions... The festival created a joyful atmosphere, imbued with solidarity among ethnic groups in the heroic land of Nam Giang.
