On the evening of August 29, at the special national relic site of the Temple of the Mac Dynasty Kings (Kien Thuy), the Hai Phong Traditional Theater and the Hai Phong Mac Clan Council organized the first expanded Hai Phong Royal Court Music Festival 2025.

Attending the event were People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations , President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association; Comrade Nguyen Quang Phuc, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches, organizations, localities, the Hai Phong Mac Clan Council and many artists, people, and tourists from near and far.

With the participation of 5 typical art units from Hue, Cao Bang, Thai Binh and Hai Phong, the festival introduces many unique performances of Vietnamese royal court music through the dynasties, while creating a space for exchange, honoring and spreading traditional musical values.

This is the first time Hai Phong - the birthplace of the Mac Dynasty - has hosted the event, affirming its position as the cultural and artistic center of the northern coastal region.
The festival aims to affirm and promote the role of culture and art in people's spiritual life; restore and promote the royal court music genre; and at the same time aim to build Hai Phong into a "City of Music" in the future.

Within the framework of the festival, in addition to the competition programs taking place on the evenings of August 29 and 30, the audience will participate in many rich activities such as: Discussion "Value, potential of traditional music and royal music, towards the Vietnamese cultural industry"; exchange with artisans, researchers; experience performances of musical instruments, costumes, and royal court rituals.
The premiere and awards ceremony will take place on the evening of August 31 at the City Theater Square.

With a long-term vision, the expanded Hai Phong Royal Court Music Festival is not only a cultural and artistic event, but also a concrete step in the journey to bring traditional music closer to contemporary life, arouse pride in heritage, nurture audiences and contribute to the development of cultural tourism in the Port City.
