Ms. Raffaela Georgy Fidanza from Italy shared: “My friends and I have known Vietnam since we were in university. As a photographer, I am very curious about the country and people of Vietnam. Finally, after many years, I have come to Vietnam and at this time. I think it is also a stroke of luck.”
Choosing to spend 2 weeks exploring from South to North, Ms. Raffaela visited many famous places in Vietnam such as Saigon, Ha Long, Sa Pa, Hoi An, and the final stop in the capital Hanoi surprised her: “When I saw all the places were bright red, I also decided to buy a red shirt to blend in with your atmosphere. Happy 80th National Day of Vietnam. You guys are amazing!”

Olivia's family from Spain decided to wake up early and walk around Hanoi when they learned that there would be a grand rehearsal for the National Day celebration on September 2nd in the Old Quarter, where they and their two children were staying during their trip to Northern Vietnam.
“It was more than exciting! We booked a very long flight to Vietnam and what we got was beyond our expectations. It was a bit surprising that the streets were so crowded early in the morning, but when we learned that you were celebrating a very big national holiday, we were even more curious and wanted to learn more about your country”. Excitedly telling us that the whole family had traveled from the sea to the mountains in Vietnam, Olivia shared that although she will have to say goodbye to Hanoi tomorrow, the experience of joining the crowd, walking under the red flags flying and the music and cheers will definitely be a memory she will never forget.

Arnold from the Netherlands happily said that he spent the last battery bars of his phone to record the moment of the parade and military parade when he happened to walk along the Phu Doan - Trang Thi intersection to return to the hotel.
“I had a slight advantage over everyone else because I was quite tall, so I was able to capture many beautiful clips and images of the parade blocks,” he said. “I was quite curious to see the capital Hanoi hung with so many flags, and heroic music was playing everywhere, but this morning when I saw your patriotism with my own eyes, I myself felt really moved.”

As for Lan and Jason, two tourists from France, the bustling atmosphere at the August Revolution Square was “beyond imagination”. “Jason and I had planned to return to Vietnam for a long time to attend the National Day holiday. We had been lining up here since 5am, but when we got here, the atmosphere was already bustling. It was beyond imagination,” Lan shared.
“During the April 30 holiday, Jason and I also returned to Vietnam. The atmosphere was wonderful, very proud. For someone who has lived away from home for a long time like me, this atmosphere is truly special and sacred,” Lan added emotionally.
As for Jason, he said that this visit to Vietnam helped him understand more about the Vietnamese people, through famous historical sites. “I could feel the bustling atmosphere on every street. Although it was quite difficult to move around for a foreigner like me and Lan, who had been away from home for a long time, everything was wonderful,” Jason said.

Coming from far away Belgium, Laetitia’s trip to Vietnam became more interesting when she knew that she was experiencing rare moments in Hanoi. “I visited some museums and tourist attractions and heard a lot about your history, it was so proud”. “I also chose to buy this hat because it has the Vietnamese flag printed on it. Happy Vietnam National Day. Vietnam is so beautiful!”.
Not only on the main streets where the parades and marches pass by, but also on each small street, foreign tourists are also joining in the bustling atmosphere of Vietnam in their own way these days. It could be a scarf printed with the red flag with a yellow star, or a small sticker of Vietnam on a shirt, these small and simple things also show the love and respect of foreign tourists for the capital Hanoi, for Vietnam in these proud days.
