After nearly 1 year of implementing Resolution 50-NQ/TU dated July 3, 2024 of the Standing Committee of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee on "supporting the construction of houses for households with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs, poor households, and near-poor households in Lao Cai province until 2025", with the high determination of the entire political system from district to commune and the people, up to now, Van Ban district has completed the goal of eliminating 816 temporary and dilapidated houses for 64 households with meritorious services, relatives of meritorious services and 752 poor and near-poor households, of which 429 new houses were built and 387 houses were repaired. The total support budget for implementation is more than 35.43 billion VND, of which 660 million VND was mobilized from socialized resources.
The completion of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has helped households stabilize their lives, creating an important foundation for sustainable poverty reduction, building new rural areas, and strengthening people's trust in the Party and State.
Regarding the implementation of 3 national target programs for the period 2021 - 2025, Van Ban district has achieved many positive results. The total central budget capital allocated is more than 578.43 billion VND, of which investment capital is more than 288.55 billion VND, career capital is more than 289.87 billion VND to implement 15 projects, 3 components. Up to now, the investment capital has been disbursed at 92% of the plan, career capital is 42%.
In addition, there are also integrated capital sources from national target programs and other programs and projects, including credit capital, enterprise capital and mobilizing voluntary contributions from people and the community to implement the programs.
Based on the reality of each locality, Van Ban district has allocated and deployed reasonable capital sources. Many essential infrastructure projects have been invested; production models, livelihoods, community tourism , and OCOP products have been formed and developed.
Through assessment, Van Ban district currently has 10/21 communes recognized as meeting new rural standards, with 300 criteria completed, each commune achieving an average of 14.29 criteria. Notable among them are the goals of sustainable poverty reduction such as: supporting housing construction, residential land, job conversion, providing domestic water, creating jobs, increasing income for poor households through supporting production development, diversifying livelihoods, vocational training with positive results. Infrastructure, cultural and tourism institutions are invested... Thereby, the material and spiritual life of the people, especially ethnic minorities, has gradually improved. The average income per capita by the end of 2024 will reach 68 million VND/person/year; the rate of trained workers will reach over 67%; the poverty rate of the district will decrease to 6.97%, an average decrease of more than 4%/year. The appearance of Van Ban's countryside has many improvements.
Regarding the tasks and requirements in the new situation when implementing the arrangement of administrative units, Van Ban district proposed that the province consider and allocate resources to support new communes to continue implementing approved projects.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ban district commended 17 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 50 on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and national target programs for the period 2021 - 2025.
