Accordingly, Ngoc Hoa Import Export Company Limited coordinated with the Vietnam Environmental Incident Response Center (Environmental SOS Center) - Central Region Representative Office with the participation of the supervision of representatives of Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority and Ha Tinh Provincial Border Guard to pump oil in the tanks of Cong Thanh 07 ship according to the approved plan.
The amount of oil sucked includes about 30m3 of diesel oil (about 25 tons) in the tanks in the ship's engine room and about 100 - 200 liters of lubricating oil in the storage tank.
After pumping the oil, at the scene where the Cong Thanh 07 ship sank, no oil slick or signs of environmental pollution were detected.
Currently, the ship owner, cargo owner, authorities, insurance and appraisal units are continuing to develop plans to soon deploy the salvage of the sunken Cong Thanh 07 ship and its cargo... At the same time, ensuring maritime safety in the area of the scene.
As reported by SGGP Newspaper, earlier, on the evening of May 25, the Cong Thanh 07 ship with a total tonnage of more than 5,000 tons, carrying nearly 5,000 tons of coal, was on its way from Quang Ninh to Quang Tri when it encountered an accident and sank at a depth of 40-50m, about 7 nautical miles from Vung Ang - Son Duong port (Ha Tinh province).
Before the ship sank, 11 crew members jumped off the ship and were later rescued by authorities and fishermen and brought safely to shore.
