Compared to the most recent training session to prepare for the 2026 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers, head coach Mai Duc Chung has made some personnel adjustments to strengthen the team.
In addition to the familiar faces who participated in the journey to win tickets to the Asian Finals, this time, defender Tran Thi Hai Linh ( Hanoi ), midfielder Tran Thi Thu Xuan and center back Le Thi Bao Tram (Vietnam Coal and Minerals) continued to be called back, bringing the total number of athletes to 28.
In the coaching staff, Coach Mai Duc Chung still maintains the familiar framework with the effective support of Brazilian fitness coach Brandi Jose Regato Neto and experienced assistants: Doan Minh Hai, Doan Thi Kim Chi, Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and a team of doctors.
According to the plan, on the morning of July 13, the whole team will take roll call and settle down at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (My Dinh, Hanoi), before going to the field for the first training session in the afternoon of the same day. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will practice here for a week, then move to Quang Ninh to enter a 10-day intensive training period.
It is expected that on July 30, the team will arrive in Hai Phong to complete the final preparations, ready to compete in the MSIG Serenity Cup 2025, taking place from August 6 to 19. As the host of Group A, the Vietnamese women's team will face opponents Cambodia (August 6), Indonesia (August 9) and Thailand (August 12) at Lach Tray Stadium.
After completing the important goal of qualifying for the 2026 Asian Cup, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team continue to set a new target: competing for the regional championship right at home. With the presence of key players such as Huynh Nhu, Tuyet Dung, Thuy Trang and a generation of young players gradually maturing, the Vietnamese women's team carries within them the aspiration to conquer and affirm the position of the country's women's football in the regional arena.
MSIG Serenity Cup 2025 is not only an opportunity for players to gain experience before the continental tournament, but also an opportunity for fans nationwide to fuel the team's spirit. As the host, Vietnam does not hide its determination to continue writing golden pages for women's football - a place that has witnessed countless efforts, dedication and sublimation of the girls in red.
