Latest instructions from the Ministry of Education and Training on the “unprecedented” opening ceremony

(Dan Tri) - Tonight (August 13), the Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a notice with detailed instructions on the most special opening ceremony ever.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to coordinate and direct educational institutions to organize the opening ceremony of the new school year to coincide with the time the Ministry organizes the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training) and the opening ceremony of the new school year at the National Convention Center from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. on September 5.

If educational institutions and schools have activities on the opening day, they should organize them concisely and complete them before 8:00 a.m. on September 5.

After 8am, schools and educational institutions from kindergarten to university fully participate in the content of the Ministry of Education and Training's program broadcast live on VTV channel.

The Ministry of Education and Training also directed units to arrange and prepare adequate transmission lines and equipment for online connection or via VTV1 channel, coordinate with local telecommunications and television units to ensure stable signals; have plans suitable for weather conditions and safety.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a document announcing this year's special opening ceremony. Specifically, the opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year will be held at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, at 8:00 a.m. on September 5. The event will be broadcast live on VTV1 and connected online to all educational institutions nationwide, from kindergarten to university.

This is a rare event in the history of Vietnamese education when all universities and vocational education institutions, from public to non-public, will simultaneously hold opening ceremonies on the same day as preschool and general education levels, combining live in Hanoi and online to educational institutions.

The event has a “double” meaning, both welcoming the new school year and celebrating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training), marking a long journey of development of the country's education.

In previous years, universities and colleges often took the initiative to organize opening ceremonies at their own time. However, this year, this simultaneous event not only demonstrated the unity and determination of the entire industry but also created a special mark.

Millions of students across the country will welcome the new school year together in one day, creating an exciting and fresh educational picture.

The 2025-2026 school year is the first school year the whole country operates under a two-level government model.

This school year, the education sector will focus on implementing the 2018 general education program, organizing two-session teaching/day, promoting digital transformation, developing digital capacity, applying artificial intelligence (AI); at the same time, promoting socialization and mobilizing artisans, artists, and athletes to participate.
