Hojlund underestimates MU's 'blockbuster'

MU refused to let Rasmus Hojlund stay in the team to compete fairly with new player Benjamin Sesko in the 2025/26 season.

Hojlund left MU to go to Napoli.

According to Athletic , Hojlund believes he is "a better striker than Sesko". The Danish international wanted to stay at Old Trafford to prove his worth to coach Ruben Amorim. However, this ambition did not come true when the "Red Devils" leadership put all their trust in Sesko. The team wanted to push Hojlund away because of the surplus of attacking personnel.

According to the same source, Hojlund was initially not interested in the prospect of playing for Napoli, but still took the flight to Italy because he wanted to remain professional. In the end, he signed a season-long loan deal with Napoli, with an option to buy the following summer for a fee of 44 million euros.

Hojlund's 2024/25 season was not a success, scoring just 10 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions. At Napoli, Hojlund hopes to revive his career after the injury of key striker Romelu Lukaku.

Hojlund could make his debut on September 14, when Antonio Conte's side face Fiorentina in Serie A round three.

As for Sesko, he has not scored a goal at Old Trafford after 3 Premier League matches. MU's new signing worth 73 million pounds is starting to feel the pressure from the public due to poor performances. Coach Ruben Amorim is also protecting him by putting him on the bench to have time to adapt to England.

MU won hard at home. Late on August 30, Manchester United had their first victory in the Premier League when they defeated Burnley 3-2 at Old Trafford.
