Conference on guidelines for improving capacity for festival management and organization in the province in 2024

On July 18 and 19, at the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace (Ha Long City), the Department of Culture - Sports of Quang Ninh organized a conference to guide the improvement of management capacity and festival organization in the province in 2024.

The conference was attended by more than 200 delegates, including leaders and officers of the Department of Culture and Information, the Center for Culture and Sports; cultural officers of communes, wards and towns; representatives of artisans, prestigious people, knowledgeable people, festival practitioners, representatives of the Festival Organizing Committee, folk art clubs of districts, towns and cities including: Co To, Van Don, Quang Yen, Cam Pha, Ha Long, Uong Bi.

In the conference program, lecturers from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism discussed the following contents: Analysis and assessment of the role of the community in preserving and promoting festival values; the current status of management, protection and promotion of intangible cultural heritage values in general and festivals in particular in the province; dissemination of the Heritage Law, circulars, decrees and documents related to the management and promotion of festival values; the current status of cultural behavior in festivals; guidance on methods and skills for management, organization, practice, transmission, preservation and promotion of festival values in Quang Ninh province in the coming time.

Comrade Luong Duc Thang, Deputy Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism spoke and shared at the conference.

The conference was held to improve the management capacity of cultural officials and festival practitioners in managing, organizing and preserving festivals, thereby gradually innovating the management, protection and promotion of festival values in accordance with current regulations. This is also an opportunity for cultural officials and festival practitioners to exchange and learn experiences in management, protection and promotion, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the value of intangible cultural heritage of festivals in localities in the province.

The conference was held to implement the Project "Management and organization of festivals in Quang Ninh province in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030". In July 2024, the conference was held in Mong Cai city, Tien Yen district, Ha Long city and is expected to be held in Dong Trieu town.
