Imprints of Vietnamese women in the new era

Respecting the core values over the past 37 years (since 1988), with a vision of innovation and a spirit of constant creativity, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest continues to affirm its own identity, steadfast with traditional and modern values in the form of expression and firmly positioning "love" in the hearts of the public.

With 4 criteria: Beauty - Intelligence - Culture - Dedication, Miss Vietnam 2024 has brought opportunities for Vietnamese women to discover new aspects of themselves, conquer challenges and promote core values. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to affirm national pride, spread the beauty and qualities of Vietnamese women. According to journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee (OC) of Miss Vietnam 2024, the educational level of this year's contestants is quite high.

The oldest contestant was born in 1999, the youngest contestant was born in 2006, 100% of Miss Vietnam 2024 contestants are studying at university and have graduated from universities. Many of them graduated from two universities; many contestants can speak one or two foreign languages; some can even speak three foreign languages. Contestants demonstrate their intelligence in terms of education when they have studied at prestigious schools in the country, such as: Foreign Trade University, Diplomatic Academy, National University and even the art school in the Army...

This year, the competition made its mark with a new 10-episode reality TV format, helping contestants demonstrate their mettle, maturity and talent through each stage. The judges highly appreciated the quality of this year’s contestants with their uniformity in body shape, beauty, education, talent and dedication.

Ha Truc Linh (born in 2004, from Phu Yen), a female student at the University of Finance and Marketing (Ho Chi Minh City) shared that by participating in the contest, she learned how to adapt to a new environment, listen and connect with new friends. Moreover, Truc Linh learned to care for herself from maintaining her health to maintaining positive energy, so that each time she appeared in front of the camera, she not only had the best image but also the best spirit. Ha Truc Linh brought to the contest the charity project "Everyone is a hero".

The project was created to equip young people with basic but very practical first aid knowledge, helping them confidently face unexpected situations in life. “I always believe that each of us has compassion and wants to help others in times of trouble. That is the power to awaken the “hero” in each person. With a loving heart, anyone can be a hero,” said Truc Linh.

With community activities, the contestants joined the “Green Saigon” Project, cleaning up trash at Rach Lang Canal (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City). This was an opportunity for the beauties to show their spiritual beauty, dedication and responsibility to society, in addition to their physical beauty and knowledge.

Different from the usual glamorous image on stage, Miss Vietnam contestants wore protective suits, multi-layered gloves, boots, masks and cleaning tools. Another group of contestants participated in the "Kitchen of Charity" activity, preparing and giving free meals to cancer patients at hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. Not only were the girls skillful in each meal, they also conveyed their sincere feelings through each word of encouragement, warm smile and handshake.

Along with that, volunteer activities are an indispensable part of the journey to find Miss Vietnam. Within the framework of the contest, the contestants and the Organizing Committee participated in giving gifts to children being treated at Hue Central Hospital. The appearance of 25 Miss Vietnam 2024 beauties brought moments filled with laughter to the children.

Through these activities, the Organizing Committee of the contest hopes to convey the message: Misses are not only beautiful in appearance but also know how to love, share and act for the community. The experiences of working and serving others will help the contestants become more mature and better understand the role of national beauty representatives.

"Spring Garden of North, Central and South" shines, brightens Vietnam

The final night of Miss Vietnam 2024 took place on the evening of June 27 at the stage on the water of the Perfume River - the area of Hue National School, opposite Hue National School. With the participation of 25 excellent contestants, leading artists and an attractive script, this is one of the most invested final nights of Miss Vietnam to date.

The stage is built on the water, using a solid reinforced iron frame and floating floor system, ensuring resistance to strong winds and absolute safety for outdoor performances with a capacity of about 6,000 people. This is considered a creative idea when combining natural space and modern stage technology to tell the story of a "shining pearl", a metaphor for the journey of Miss Vietnam contestants.

According to stage director Linh Nguyen, this is a program to honor beauty and promote Vietnamese cultural and artistic heritage, inspired by the lacquer painting “Spring Garden of Central, North and South” recognized as a National Treasure by famous painter Nguyen Gia Tri. This idea is consistent throughout the program’s structure: The journey to find a beauty queen starts in the South, goes through the North and ends in the Central region.

The final night consisted of four traditional competitions: Ao Dai, swimsuit, evening gown and behavioral part. However, the difference this year was in the staging, each competition was a “small chapter” in the big “spring garden”, told through the language of music, images and the harmony with the water stage. There, the audience was satisfied with many aspects of the contestants, gentle in Ao Dai, dynamic in swimsuit, graceful and elegant in evening gown and finally with intelligence and courage in the behavioral part.

Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Chau Anh - the only soldier of the Vietnam People's Army - made an impression in the top 25 contestants of the final round of Miss Vietnam 2024. Chau Anh is 1.7m tall, weighs 51kg, has measurements of 86-60-90cm, knows how to play the piano, dance and compose the song "The radiant flower of Vietnam" - as a greeting and gratitude to the contest.

This is a rare occasion to see a female soldier participating in a beauty pageant, bringing a breath of fresh air to the contest and affirming that women in the Army are not only resilient and strong but also graceful, intelligent and talented.

In her response, when asked about Hue City's desire to tell its story to the whole country and the world through upgrading the venue for national cultural events such as Miss Vietnam, Lieutenant Tran Ngoc Chau Anh confidently answered: "Hue is a land of talented people, an ancient capital, elite with many thousand-year-old cultural traditions. But what I admire most is that Hue has always persistently and persistently shone its heritage through festivals, through cultural promotion activities. This year is the first time Miss Vietnam has connected with Hue to continue to shine this heritage. And today, I would like to say: " Yes, Hue now/ Still has Ngu Mountain on the banks of the Huong River". Continuing this feeling: "Welcoming visitors from all over the world/ Nourishing the heart to reunite and return here ".
