Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School (Phan Dinh Phung Ward) prepares facilities to receive transferred students. |
According to a survey by the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen, the demand for students of all levels to transfer to central schools in the province is over 1,000 students, of which more than 400 are high school students, over 300 are middle school students, and the rest are primary and preschool students.
To meet the learning needs of students, schools have had many positive solutions, accepting students in the spirit of ensuring compliance with regulations on the structure of student numbers in each class.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Dao Xuan Tan informed: The Department of Education and Training of the two old provinces have made preparations in advance to facilitate students from Bac Kan province (old) to follow their parents to work at the new provincial center after the merger. The general spirit is to create maximum conditions for students to transfer to new schools in the provincial center, suitable for the workplace of the students' parents. The Department has also directed schools to accept students, based on statistics on the conditions for maximum capacity to accept transferred students, and at the same time publicly announce the conditions and time to receive applications in July 2025.
At Nguyen Du Secondary School (Phan Dinh Phung Ward), teacher Hoang Thanh Lam, Principal of the School, said: Before the merger with the province, Nguyen Du Secondary School was in a state of shortage of classrooms and functional rooms. The designed classrooms could not accommodate more than 50 students/class, so the School could only accept about 30 students. In particular, grade 7 could not arrange seats, so it could not accept more students for the 2025-2026 school year. Due to the limited number of students, the School has provided information on the admission conditions to prioritize students with temporary residence; whose parents work at agencies and units near the School.
Based on information on admission conditions, parents and students can register online or directly with the School. In addition, the principals of schools at the same level in the area regularly inform, exchange, and update the number of students admitted, ensuring the most favorable conditions for students to enter school.

At Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School (Phan Dinh Phung Ward), Ms. Le Kim Anh, Principal of the School, shared: The school currently has over 1,280 students, arranged for 36 students/class. After the survey, the school can accept about 100 students. However, grades 3 and 4 cannot accept them because they have reached the maximum number of 40 students/class. The school has renovated the library reading room to arrange an additional classroom when accepting more students for the new school year.
For high school level, although the transfer request is the highest among all levels, the distance between schools in the central area is not too far and the traffic is convenient, so the admission of students is quite favorable. Luong Ngoc Quyen High School accepts about 30 students, Ngo Quyen High School, Duong Tu Minh High School, Khanh Hoa High School ... can all accept 20-30 students.
Admission requirements are based on the entrance standards and proximity to the student’s residence. In addition, non-public high schools and vocational education and continuing education centers in the central province can accept 30-50 students.
Compared to previous school years, the 2025-2026 school year has seen changes in student numbers due to the transfer of students to central provincial schools, but schools have been proactive and prepared for the new school year earlier. That proactiveness demonstrates the sense of responsibility of schools, not allowing interruptions or affecting the learning process of students after the province's merger.
