Helicopters carry nearly 20 tons of supplies to people in flood-hit areas

TPO - On July 24, there were 7 helicopter flights transporting nearly 20 tons of goods, necessities, and food supplies to people in the flood-hit area of Nghe An who have been isolated for many days.

By the evening of July 24, the helicopter force mobilized by the Ministry of National Defense had successfully carried out 7 helicopter flights transporting nearly 20 tons of emergency relief goods to villages and residential areas isolated by floods in mountainous communes of Nghe An province .

Flights are carried out according to flexible plans, ensuring essential supplies are delivered to key areas, promptly supporting people isolated in flood-hit areas .

Seven flights were made to supply goods and necessities to people in the flood-hit areas of Tuong Duong, Muong Xen, My Ly, Nhon Mai, and Con Cuong communes.

The first flight landed at the stadium of Tuong Duong commune ( Nghe An province), which has been cut off by floods for many days. Many villages in this commune are currently isolated due to broken suspension bridges and muddy roads.

The next flights will reach Muong Xen and Con Cuong communes to deliver goods and necessities to people in the area affected by floods.

In My Ly and Nhon Mai communes, due to the rugged terrain and lack of safe landing locations, the flight crew dropped supplies from above to provide supplies to isolated people.

According to a quick report from Nghe An province, as of July 24, there were 6 communes completely isolated and 24 communes partially isolated due to floods. The communes that are completely isolated include: Muong Xen, Huu Kiem, Na Ngoi, My Ly, Bac Ly and Nhon Mai. Floods have killed 3 people, left 1 missing and injured 4 people. In addition, floods have damaged 495 houses and flooded 1,276 houses. In recent days, the armed forces stationed in Nghe An province have mobilized many officers and soldiers to coordinate with functional forces to support people in evacuating their property and overcoming the consequences of floods.
