Railway transport reaches revenue milestone of over 2,700 billion VND after 6 months

Of which, revenue from transportation reached more than VND 2,504 billion, up 9%, of which passenger ship revenue reached more than VND 1,800 billion, up 12%; cargo ship revenue reached about VND 700 billion, up 3% over the same period last year.

According to Traravico, 2025 is the first year the enterprise operates under the merger model of Hanoi and Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Companies, with Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) playing the role of controlling shareholder.

Despite the recent merger, the positive results in the first half of the year reflect the effectiveness of a series of innovative and synchronous solutions that the enterprise has implemented, such as promoting the exploitation of passenger trains associated with experiential tourism, creating branded transportation products such as the Hoa Phuong Do train, Central Heritage Journey (Hue - Da Nang );

Innovate services, develop charter products; exploit the international tourist market that is strongly recovering.

From the above positive results, Traravico sets a target of transport revenue in the last 6 months of 2025 reaching more than 2,226 billion VND, an increase of 8% over the same period; Total revenue for the year reaching 4,731 billion VND, an increase of 8.6% compared to 2024, of which: passenger ship revenue is more than 1,410 billion VND, cargo ship revenue is more than 816 billion VND.

This enterprise said it will focus on improving service quality, putting high-quality carriages into effectively operating trains such as the high-quality Thong Nhat train; Hanoi - Da Nang tourist train (SE19/SE20), Saigon - Da Nang (SE21/SE22); Central Heritage Journey train, Da Lat - Trai Mat train...

The company also plans to operate a new tourist train on the Hanoi - Bac Ninh route in August 2025, serving customers in the city and surrounding areas. The train will integrate traditional cultural spaces, with folk art performances (hat xam, ca tru, quan ho), handicraft exhibitions, and introduction of typical cuisine such as pho cuon, banh com, and lotus tea.

In addition, Traravico will organize trains well to transport officers and soldiers participating in drills and parades on the occasion of National Day, September 2.

The company continues to maintain its traditional cargo routes (apatite, fertilizer, chemicals, construction materials, etc.), while actively seeking new sources of goods, especially container cargo, agricultural products, and electronics. Traravico especially focuses on exploiting the container route from Nanning (China) deep into the South.

In the last 6 months of the year, Traravico continued to renovate 160 passenger cars to serve the Hanoi - Saigon route; built 50 new specialized container cars, contributing to modernizing the vehicle fleet and improving freight transport capacity.
