On July 25, the Hanoi Department of Tourism reported that the total number of visitors to Hanoi reached 2.8 million, of which domestic tourists were estimated at 2.25 million, an increase of 7.1% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 10.68 trillion VND, an increase of 13.9% over the same period in 2024.
It is expected that in the first 7 months of 2025, the total number of tourists to Hanoi will reach 18.36 million, an increase of 11.6% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international tourists will reach 4.21 million, an increase of 22.3% over the same period in 2024, including 2.97 million international tourists staying there. Domestic tourists will reach 14.15 million, an increase of 8.7% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at 73 trillion VND, an increase of 14.5% over the same period in 2024.
In July 2025, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel sector is estimated at 56.94%, down 1.6 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024. To date, Hanoi has 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms, including 85 hotels and apartment buildings with a rating of 1-5 stars.
Regarding standard tourism services, in Hanoi there are currently 58 service businesses recognized as meeting standards for serving tourists, including 25 food service businesses, 22 shopping service businesses, and 9 entertainment business establishments. The system of shopping, food service, and entertainment establishments that meet standards for serving tourists has attracted and served a large number of tourists and residents to visit and shop.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that in August, Hanoi Department of Tourism will carry out many important tasks, especially activities and events towards the 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Specifically, the Department will advise on organizing a conference on management and development of tourist destinations in Hanoi in 2025; organizing a delegation of Hanoi to introduce Hanoi culture and tourism at the Osaka Expo and promote tourism in Nagoya - Japan; implementing the organization of the Hanoi Beverage Festival in 2025; organizing a delegation to participate in the Fair booth at ITB India (India) and a program to promote Vietnamese tourism in India.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will coordinate with the People's Committees of relevant wards and communes to develop a Plan to organize the opening and launch of new tourism products with the theme: "Hanoi Tourism - Convergence of Essence 2025"; coordinate with the People's Committees of wards and communes to develop tourism products: agricultural and rural tourism products; night tourism products; golf tourism products; community tourism products associated with the practical experience of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities...
