At the meeting to discuss tourism development solutions in Vung Tau ward that recently took place, experts and tourism businesses had many positive assessments and specific proposals to realize tourism potential from the new space after Ho Chi Minh City merged Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau .

As the economic and cultural center of the country, Ho Chi Minh City plays an important role in connecting destinations in this new journey. The latest statistics from the City Department of Tourism show that tourism development resources are huge with 808 resources, 7,211 tourism businesses and 9,540 tour guides. In particular, developed transport infrastructure such as Long Thanh airport and the North-South railway system will be the driving force to promote regional connectivity, creating favorable conditions for domestic and foreign tourists to reach new destinations.

The 15 tourism programs that have just been announced, such as “Ho Chi Minh City from the river to the sea”, “Touching nature”, “Discovering Vietnamese ceramics - The spirit of the land of steel”… are clear evidence for the orientation of developing diverse and sustainable tourism, effectively exploiting the potential of open space towards the future.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, emphasized the strategic vision: "Vung Tau Ward needs to be oriented to develop into a regional and international destination. This requires specific support policies, close coordination between Ho Chi Minh City and the locality to create different and attractive tourism products, especially strongly exploiting night tourism and sea sports activities."

On the local side, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Van, Vice Chairwoman of Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, affirmed the potential and commitment: "We have all the conditions to become a tourist city with key spaces. Our proposal is to be given the right to manage and preside over the organization of events and exploit services for more flexibility. In particular, we wish to pilot the 'tourist ward' model with a special financial mechanism, revenue from tourism will be reinvested immediately to upgrade infrastructure and services."

From a business perspective, Mr. Le Hong Tu, General Director of BT Tour, made practical suggestions: Organizing large-scale events such as beach volleyball or surfing tournaments is extremely necessary to attract and prolong the stay of tourists."

Opinions are unanimous that the connection between Ho Chi Minh City (financial and intellectual center), Binh Duong (industrial capital) and Vung Tau (gateway to the marine economy) will create a complete tourism value chain. This combination not only effectively distributes visitors, reducing the load on the center but also brings visitors a diverse and complete experience from dynamic urban areas to green spaces and marine heritage, promising a bumper tourist season for the whole region.

The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Industry is currently focusing on key tasks such as reforming administrative procedures, issuing a set of management guidelines and providing standard information for businesses. This not only enhances competitiveness but also creates a professional and friendly tourism environment, ensuring the most complete experiences for tourists, especially during the peak tourist season at the end of the year./.
