- Artists of Ca Mau province with all their hearts for a Vietnamese career
Mass arts are not simply entertainment, but also a form of gentleeducation , arousing patriotism, solidarity and preserving traditional values that are gradually fading away. In recent times, many art clubs in the province have been active and vibrant, creating vibrant colors for the mass arts picture in Ca Mau.
The content of the performances praises the Party, the homeland and beloved Uncle Ho.
The highlight is the Senior Citizens Club of the Provincial Cultural Center . With 20 members (including 4 men and 16 women), the Club has become a warm and friendly cultural home for the elderly. Club members regularly perform on major occasions such as Party celebrations, Spring celebrations, national anniversaries, as well as exchanges with organizations and associations. Each performance is carefully staged, selected to suit each event theme, imbued with traditional culture and expressing deep patriotism.
Not only stopping at official performances, every week, members regularly practice, interact and encourage each other. The warm atmosphere and positive, enthusiastic practice spirit have helped the members maintain their health and optimism to continue living happily and usefully after years of dedication and work.
Ms. Pham Thuy Hang, 70 years old (residing in Hamlet 4, Ward 5, Ca Mau City), a member of the club, said: “The club also participates in the amateur music space at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site on weekends. Here, we often perform about 3 acts, including traditional singing and music, contributing to preserving and spreading the value of this unique traditional art form of the nation.”
Ms. Pham Thuy Hang, a member of the Senior Club, said: "Participating in performances helps me feel more comfortable and happy in my old age."
Each citizen is both a creator and an audience member, each performance is the result of many weeks of practice, to get rid of the worries in life. That is what creates the unique value of folk art, simple, close and full of life.
“We are excited that at retirement age we still have the opportunity to live happily, live healthily, and always have a comfortable spirit. If we did not join the club, many of us would probably fall into a state of sadness and depression. But thanks to having a place to socialize, practice and perform, life becomes much more meaningful,” Ms. Pham Thuy Hang shared.
In the performances of Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center, besides the performances of professional artists, there are always exchange performances from mass art clubs.
Recently, mass cultural activities have attracted many young people, especially children. This is a useful playground for them to express their talents and passion.
The late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once affirmed: “Culture is the identity of the nation, if culture exists, the nation exists, if culture is lost, the nation is lost”. In the hustle and bustle of the times, the mass art movement is not simply an artistic activity, but the source that nourishes the nation’s soul. Developing mass art today is the way to continue that underground cultural stream, so that the people’s singing continues to resonate on the journey of building a rich and powerful country with a strong identity.
