On the afternoon of July 16, Vietnam Expressway Engineering Services Joint Stock Company (VECE - the management unit of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway) said that in order to repair expansion joints and upgrade the intelligent transportation system (ITS), the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (the section from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai province) will be partially fenced off for 30 days.

Due to the barrier, drivers on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway must comply with the speed warning and pay attention to the route to ensure safe and convenient travel.

According to VECE, the repair time for the expansion joint of pier P26 of Long Thanh bridge is expected to last 15 days. From July 15, the construction unit will barricade half of the bridge deck on the left side of the route (from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City), and at the same time limit the speed of vehicles passing through this area to ensure traffic safety.

In addition, the intelligent transportation system (ITS) on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway has also been upgraded, so the construction unit has limited speed and narrowed the road surface at 64 locations for a period of one month from now until August 14.

VECE warns that traffic jams are inevitable during construction, so drivers should slow down according to signs and keep a safe distance. In addition, monitor information channels to consider choosing a suitable route. VECE closely coordinates with traffic police and relevant parties to regulate and limit traffic jams.

Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is a vital route connecting with Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway, National Highway 51 is often congested with traffic.

To meet the increasing transportation demand and solve traffic pressure on the route, it is expected that in August 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway will begin to be expanded by nearly 22km (from the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 section to the intersection with the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway).
