Customs discovered and arrested many cases of smuggling and illegal transportation of foreign currency.

Customs forces discovered a passenger passing through Noi Bai International Airport carrying 690 foreign currency notes, including Japanese Yen.

During the check-in process for passengers departing on flight VN310 from Noi Bai to Narita (Tokyo, Japan), the Export Baggage Procedures Team - Customs at Noi Bai International Airport (Customs Branch of Region I) discovered a passenger with suspicious signs.

Through checking the carry-on luggage, the Customs force discovered an envelope containing a large amount of foreign currency.

The initial inspection results determined that there were 690 bills, with a face value of 10,000 Japanese Yen, that were not declared to customs and could not present legal documents as required.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency ( Hanoi City Police) has issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the defendant for the crime of illegally transporting goods and currency across the border.

From May 19 to June 15, the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department (Customs Department) discovered, arrested, and handled 9 cases.

Typically, on May 26, in the waters of Khanh Hoa province, Team 2 - Anti-smuggling Investigation Department presided over and coordinated with Border Guard Squadron 48 and Customs Control Team - Regional Customs Department XIII to inspect wooden ship numbered KH-0757, discovering the transport of about 20,000 liters of DO oil without invoices or documents proving its legality. The value of the infringing shipment is estimated at about 348 million VND.

On May 28, in the sea area of Ninh Thuan province, Team 2 - Anti-smuggling Investigation Department presided over and coordinated with Coast Guard Region 3 to inspect the ship with license plate TH-91658-TS, discovering that it was transporting about 75,000 liters of DO oil without invoices or documents proving its legality. The value of the illegal shipment is estimated at about 1.3 billion VND.

From May 19 to June 15, Team 2 - Anti-smuggling Investigation Department coordinated with the Customs Department of Region IX to inspect and seize 6 transit shipments from China to Laos, including 19,309 products of various types, worth 4.188 billion VND, including mobile phones, clothes, computer screens, glasses, tablet screens, phone cases, truck lights, etc.

In addition, more than 3,360 products, worth about 2.8 billion VND, were undeclared consumer goods hidden in containers.
