South American countries are showing a tough stance and drastic actions in the face of tensions in the Gaza Strip.

On October 31, the Chilean government requested that its ambassador to Israel be recalled for consultations after Israel launched a counterattack on the Gaza Strip. In addition, the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the country strongly condemned and was deeply concerned about the war situation in the Middle East.
The South American country also called for an end to violence against civilians, the release of hostages and the creation of aid for some 2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
On social network X , Colombian President Gustavo Petro confirmed that Bogota has recalled the Colombian Ambassador to Israel amid escalating tensions in the Eastern Mediterranean.
On the same day, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry announced its decision to sever diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv.
Bolivia was one of the first countries to cut diplomatic relations with Israel because of the conflict in the Middle East.
This is not the first time Bolivia has made such a move, having severed diplomatic relations with Israel in 2009 over its attack on the Gaza Strip.
