According to the Plant Cultivation and Plant Protection Station, the flooded area of the whole city is up to 2,344.6 hectares, of which rice is 1,710 hectares, vegetables are 634.6 hectares, concentrated in the communes and wards of Quoc Oai, Hung Dao, Kieu Phu, Thu Lam, Thien Loc, Hat Mon, and Phuc Tho.

Faced with this situation, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to direct specialized departments to closely monitor weather developments and follow technical instructions to take timely response measures. The urgent task is to drain water, clear water flows, reinforce banks and land banks, and limit prolonged flooding in low-lying areas.

It is recommended that eligible vegetable areas be harvested early to reduce damage. For areas with fast drainage, it is necessary to urgently pump and drain, and proactively plan to replant when the water recedes in areas that have been completely lost.

For fruit orchards, especially grapefruit, guava, longan, etc. in the fruiting stage, it is necessary to urgently drain water and avoid prolonged flooding that causes fruit drop. Measures such as furrowing, early harvesting, avoiding impact, and combining with spraying additional foliar fertilizers containing micronutrients (Fe, Bo, Ca, Cu, B, Zn, etc.) are implemented to limit cracking and fruit drop.

The leaders of the Hanoi Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection have directed the base stations to assign technical staff to coordinate with local authorities to guide farmers on measures to restore production. At the same time, they have increased their prediction and forecasting of pests and diseases to effectively prevent and control them, ensuring production safety.

Closely monitoring weather conditions, reviewing flooded areas, advising on appropriate measures, and proactively restoring production are constant requirements. According to the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment, localities need to regularly monitor progress and promptly compile reports to minimize damage and protect crop production results.
