Hanoi: Road closure for A80 preliminary review from 12:00 on August 27

To serve the A80 Preliminary Review, many roads in Hanoi will be banned, temporarily banned, and have vehicle restrictions from 12:00 on August 27 to 2:00 on August 28.

On August 27, in Hanoi , the preliminary rehearsal of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as the Celebration) took place; to ensure traffic order and safety, prevent traffic congestion, facilitate and serve the travel needs of the people and activities serving the preliminary rehearsal, Hanoi City Police announced traffic diversion and organized directions for vehicles as follows:

1. Time to organize a complete ban, temporary ban, and restriction of traffic on some roads, traffic diversion, and organize directions for vehicles serving the Preliminary Review of the Anniversary Ceremony: from 12:00 on August 27, 2025 to 2:00 on August 28, 2025.

2. Routes where all vehicles are strictly prohibited (except vehicles with security badges and vehicles serving the Anniversary):

Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Khue (from Hung Vuong to Van Cao), Mai Xuan Thuong, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, Hung Vuong, Hoang Van Thu, Doc Lap, Chua Mot Cot, Bac Son, Ton That Dam, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Dieu, Cua Bac, Yen Phu, Thanh Nien, Dien Bien Phu, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Le Hong Phong, Ong Ich Khiem, Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Chu Van An, Ton Duc Thang, Cat Linh, Trinh Hoai Duc, Hang Chao, Tran Phu, Son Tay, Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Van Cao, Nghi Tam, Doi Can, Doc La-Pho, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan, Tran Nhan Tong (from Le Duan to Quang Trung), Trang Thi, Hang Khay, Trang Tien, Co Tan, Phan Chu Trinh (from Hai Ba Trung to Trang Tien); Le Thanh Tong, Tong Dan (from Ly Dao Thanh to Trang Tien), Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Quang Trung (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Trang Thi), Ly Thai To, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen (from State Bank Square to Trang Tien), Giang Vo, Lang Ha, Lang (from Lang Ha to Tran Duy Hung).

3. Routes are temporarily banned according to vehicle type:

- Routes inside Ring Road I (except for routes with strict prohibitions in section 2): temporary ban for all types of vehicles (except vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving the Anniversary Ceremony, vehicles with priority, vehicles on official duty, buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting).

- Routes in the area from Ring Road I to Ring Road II (except for routes with strict prohibitions in Section 2): temporary ban for trucks with a total designed weight of 1.5 tons or more, passenger cars with 16 seats or more (except for vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving the Anniversary Ceremony, vehicles with priority rights, vehicles performing official duties, buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles handling and troubleshooting).

4. Routes that Hanoi City Police recommends traffic participants limit traffic:

- Routes in the area from Ring Road II to Ring Road III: restrict traffic for passenger transport vehicles with less than 16 seats, private cars, and motorbikes.

- Routes in the area from Ring Road I to Ring Road II: traffic restrictions for vehicles.

- For some routes from Ring Road III towards the suburban area (including: National Highway 32, Cau Dien, Ho Tung Mau, Le Duc Tho, Le Quang Dao, Thang Long Boulevard, Lang Van Hoa Street, National Highway 21A, Ho Chi Minh Road, National Highway 6, Quang Trung, Tran Phu, Nguyen Trai, Provincial Road 419, Provincial Road 429, Vo Nguyen Giap, National Highway 18): restrict traffic for vehicles (except buses, garbage collection vehicles, vehicles for handling and troubleshooting, vehicles with security badges, vehicles serving the Anniversary Ceremony).

* Note:

- Ring Road I: Nguyen Khoi dike - Tran Khat Chan - Dai Co Viet - Xa Dan - O Cho Dua - La Thanh - Cau Giay - Buoi - Lac Long Quan - An Duong Vuong - Au Co - Nghi Tam - Yen Phu - Dike 401 - Nguyen Khoi dike.

- Ring Road II: Vinh Tuy bridge - Minh Khai - Dai La - Truong Chinh - Lang - Buoi elevated road - Vo Chi Cong - Nhat Tan bridge - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa - Dong Tru bridge - Ly Son - Nguyen Van Linh - Dam Quang Trung - Vinh Tuy bridge.

- Ring Road III: National Highway 1 - Thanh Tri Bridge - Do Muoi - Hoang Liet - Phap Van overpass - Nghiem Xuan Yem - Nguyen Xien - Khuat Duy Tien - Pham Hung - Pham Van Dong - Tan Xuan - Vo Van Kiet.

5. During the period of road closure and vehicle restriction, Hanoi City Police organize the following directions for vehicles:

(1) Cars temporarily banned from National Highway 5, Hanoi - Bac Giang Expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway to Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway move through Thanh Tri Bridge → Ring Road III on high → Do Muoi intersection → Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway.

(2) Vehicles from the Eastern provinces (Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh,...) to the Northern, Western, and Northwestern provinces (Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang...) travel along the route: Phu Dong bridge → Thanh Tri bridge → Ring road III on the elevated road → Thang Long bridge → Vo Van Kiet...; or from National Highway 5 → Nguyen Duc Thuan → Thanh Tri bridge approach road → Phu Dong bridge → Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway → Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway to Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang provinces... and vice versa.

(3) Vehicles from the Northern provinces (Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho...) to the Southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa...) travel along the route: National Highway 2 → Vo Van Kiet → Thang Long Bridge → Ring Road III → Do Muoi intersection → Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway.

(4) Trucks with a total designed weight of 10 tons or more traveling on the elevated Ring Road III are restricted from moving down to intersections on Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, and Nguyen Xien streets and must comply with the direction and instructions of the authorities.

(5) Do not stop or park vehicles on bridges, overpasses, or roads where traffic is prohibited or temporarily prohibited.

(6) Recommend that people from provinces and localities coming to Hanoi to participate in the activities of the Anniversary use passenger transport cars, public transport, especially the elevated train (line 2A Cat Linh - Ha Dong: from Yen Nghia station - Ha Dong ward to Cat Linh station - O Cho Dua ward; line 3 Nhon - Hanoi station: from Nhon station - Tay Tuu ward to Cau Giay station - Giang Vo ward); walk on some streets in Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Hai Ba Trung, Giang Vo, Ngoc Ha wards and locations around Ba Dinh Square; comply with the instructions of the functional forces, stand on the sidewalk, do not jostle, spill onto the roadway causing obstruction to the marching groups, parades, and marches; leave in order, following the instructions of the functional forces.

Note: The time of banning, temporary banning and restricting vehicles on some routes may change and be adjusted to ensure compliance with the program of the Organizing Committee of the Anniversary Ceremony. People are requested to regularly update and find necessary information on the Website: https://a80.hanoi.gov.vn or https://congan.hanoi.gov.vn/ and other official media before participating in the activities of the Anniversary Ceremony.

6. To ensure security and safety, and contribute to the successful organization of the Anniversary, we request that traffic participants voluntarily and strictly comply with the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; when encountering priority vehicles signaling priority on duty, promptly move close to the right side of the road, stop completely or change direction to the nearest level crossing or intersection, and give way to priority vehicles.

7. Propose the Department of Construction, Hanoi Transport Corporation, Vietnam Railway Corporation, Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd.: based on the functions, authority and announcement of this traffic flow to maximize the use of public passenger transport, widely announce service times on the media so that people know, use the service, move from areas to the city center and vice versa; supplement the road signaling system to guide traffic participants to follow the route; study and adjust the bus routes accordingly and temporarily suspend the operation time of the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line (passing through Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan streets).

Hanoi City Police Department informs people and traffic participants to know, comply, choose appropriate travel routes and support the police force to complete its tasks; regularly monitor and update information related to the organization of the Anniversary Ceremony to proactively move appropriately and prevent traffic jams.
