Introducing the book series "The World of the Future" and interacting with author Julie Lardon

On the occasion of author Julie Lardon's visit to Vietnam, the French Institute in Vietnam in collaboration with Kim Dong Publishing House organized a series of events for discussion and exchange with the author in Hanoi , Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

The 21st century has seen many major current issues that directly affect life, such as population growth, rapid urbanization, the negative side of social networks, and damage to biodiversity caused by human overexploitation...

With beautiful illustrations and concise content, the Future World series will help young readers understand more about the world they live in.

The book also offers solutions that humans are and will be implementing to solve those problems, aiming towards a better future for future generations.

Through the book series, author Julie Lardon hopes to provide an overview, convey knowledge in a simple and easy-to-understand way about political and social issues and development trends of the future world, so that young generations of citizens can be more deeply aware of their role in that world.

In Hanoi, the seminar “Overpopulation - How to feed more people?” was held on September 30 at Kim Dong Publishing House.

By participating in the program, readers will listen to author Julie Lardon share about her journey of collecting documents, researching and writing books, and at the same time, have the opportunity to learn more about the history of agriculture, the differences between the cuisines of Western and Eastern countries, and receive attractive gifts from Kim Dong Publishing House.

In Hue, the program "What future for us?" - an exchange with author Julie Lardon and translators of the book series Future World , was held on October 3 at the French Institute in Hue.

The program stimulates interest and equips young people with basic knowledge to help them perceive and explain contemporary social issues such as population growth, rapid urbanization, the negative side of social networks, and damage to biodiversity caused by human overexploitation.

In Da Nang, the workshop “Challenges of the 21st Century” will be conducted by author Julie Lardon for students of French classes at the French Institute in Da Nang on October 4.

Next, the discussion “Modern and Sustainable Urban Areas” was held on October 5 at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street. Participating in the program, readers had the opportunity to listen to author Julie Lardon share about her journey of collecting documents, researching and writing books, and at the same time, have the opportunity to learn more about the history of cities around the world, the difference between the urban development process of Western and Eastern countries, and receive attractive gifts from Kim Dong Publishing House.

The event series also had the participation of speakers: Dr. Vu Duc Liem, a lecturer at the Faculty of History, Hanoi National University of Education; Phan Dang, a familiar name in the sports world as well as television audiences; translator Do Thi Minh Nguyet, Head of the Book and Conference Department, French Institute in Vietnam; translator Pham Thanh Van, Chief Representative of Safran Group in Vietnam; MC Quoc Khanh, a familiar name to those who have a passion for startups; writer Nguyen Dinh Khoa, a young writer and architect.

Julie Lardon is a 34-year-old author and journalist. In 2016, she founded the bi-monthly newspaper Albert, which aims to decode current affairs for children aged 9-14.

In 2020, she launched the book series Future World published by La poule qui pond Publishing House, Kim Dong Publishing House bought the copyright and translated it into Vietnamese, to explain to teenagers the great challenges of the 21st century: Settling on the Moon, Biodiversity, Social Networks, Future Cities, Feeding Humanity...

She is also the author of story books for young children (0-3 years old) published by La poule qui pond Publishing House.
