Positive results
To concretize the breakthrough on April 16, 2021, Dak Mil district issued Resolution No. 05 on promoting the development of high-tech agriculture associated with the processing industry and promoting the export of key local agricultural products, period 2021-2025, orientation to 2030. On that basis, every year, the Standing Committee and the District Executive Committee have focused on leading, directing, and proposing immediate and long-term solutions for implementation.
After half of the term, the implementation of this breakthrough has initially brought positive results. Dak Mil has formed a high-tech coffee production area, with a scale of 335 hectares in Thuan An commune, recognized by the Provincial People's Committee. In particular, the district has established and effectively operated the Cong Bang Thuan An Agricultural Cooperative and 186 farmer households participated. Currently, Dak Mil is focusing on directing the completion of criteria to recognize the high-tech mango production area in Dak Gan commune.
According to the assessment of Dak Mil District Party Committee, the development of high-tech agricultural production areas not only contributes to improving product quality, creating concentrated raw material areas, associated with processing and export.
Sustainable agricultural development
At the working session between the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee's Working Group and the Dak Mil District Party Committee's Standing Committee in early April 2023, many opinions said that the implementation of the district's agricultural breakthrough needs to be focused, highly determined and have more fundamental solutions.
According to comrade Le Trong Yen, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Dak Mil is a land with great potential for economic development, including agriculture. Although 70% of the land area is for agricultural production, the district does not have any breakthrough or unique products. Therefore, Dak Mil needs to organize advantageous production to bring high value. Mangoes in particular can be produced on a small area, but it is better to ensure prices and deep processing. The locality should take Cong Bang Thuan An Cooperative as a model for replication in agricultural production.
Sharing the same view, comrade Tran Xuan Hai, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, said that Dak Mil district must plan specific and sustainable agricultural production areas, while at the same time propagating and mobilizing people to not develop massively, spontaneously, or follow trends. Comrade Tran Xuan Hai cited that in the past, durian was grown sporadically, on a small scale, and at a high price, so everyone rushed to grow it. If the area continues to increase, it will lead to a surplus situation, with supply exceeding demand.
Concluding the working session, Comrade Ngo Thanh Danh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dak Nong province, highly appreciated the results Dak Mil achieved in the first half of the term to implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, including the breakthrough in developing high-tech agriculture associated with deep processing industry and creating many key export products for agricultural products.
"To develop sustainable agriculture, Dak Mil must identify its strengths and key products to improve quality and efficiency on the same area. All agricultural products produced must be consumed. To do this, Dak Mil district needs to resolutely transform the agricultural structure and develop high-tech agriculture; focus on developing cooperatives and production cooperation groups linked in the direction of value chains."
