Pig price on October 3, 2024: Slight increase in the North and North Central regions

DNVN - On October 3, 2024, the price of live pigs in some provinces in the Northern and North Central regions recorded a slight increase, ranging from 64,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the North

This morning, the live hog market in the North showed signs of a slight increase, with the purchase price ranging from 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. In Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang , an increase of 1,000 VND/kg brought the transaction price to 69,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces in the region maintained the transaction price of 68,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The Central Highlands region also recorded a slight increase, with live hog prices ranging from 64,000 to 68,000 VND/kg. In Thanh Hoa , the price was fixed at 68,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg. Traders in other localities continued to buy at unchanged prices today.

Pig price in the South

In the South, the live hog market remained stable this morning, with purchase prices ranging from 64,000 to 66,000 VND/kg. Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Vung Tau and Dong Thap provinces are leading the region with a transaction price of 66,000 VND/kg. In contrast, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu, Tra Vinh , Ben Tre and Soc Trang are the provinces with the lowest prices, at 64,000 VND/kg.

The widespread epidemic in many localities is believed to be the reason for the slowdown in the increase in live hog prices, despite the shortage of supply. In the South, live hog prices have remained stable for a long time and fluctuated less than in other regions. The purchase price here fluctuates from 64,000 - 66,000 VND/kg, with Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Thap continuing to trade at 66,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.

At some wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City, the price of underweight pork ranges from 40,000 to 45,000 VND/kg. Imported pork from neighboring countries also contributes to regulating the price of live pigs in the Southern market. Currently, the price of grade 1 live pigs of CP Vietnam Livestock Company in the Southern region is at 66,000 VND/kg, 2,000 VND/kg lower than the listed price in the Northern provinces.
