Generations in the family live together in unity and love each other.

Coming from a farming family, attached to the border land of Hoa Hoi, Tay Ninh province for many generations, the children and grandchildren of Mr. Keo Chum (born in 1921) and Mrs. Pal Sap (born in 1944) always live in solidarity, love each other, carry in their hearts pride in cultural identity and love for the Fatherland.

For his family, love for the Fatherland is always present in every action. Each family member is taught to live life to the fullest, have the desire to contribute, and be ready to build the locality to develop more and more.

Mr. Keo Chum and Mrs. Pal Sup have 7 children together. The eldest son, Keo Bang, is a martyr who died while protecting the southwestern border. The eldest daughter, Keo Onl (born in 1971), is a party member, a prestigious person among the Khmer people, and the head of the Women's Association of Bo Lon Hamlet, Hoa Hoi Commune. As the eldest sister in the family, Keo Onl always lives positively, treats everyone with sincerity to set an example for her younger siblings and grandchildren in the family.

Understanding the hardships of the Khmer people, she tries to help them with all her ability. She mobilizes benefactors to repair houses for neighbors, supports breeding cows for families in difficult circumstances, and mobilizes gifts for people on the occasion of Lunar New Year and Khmer New Year.

Having participated in propaganda work and the work of the local Women's Union for many years, Ms. Keo Onl actively researched legal documents, extracted core contents that were suitable to the situation and easy to understand, and then propagated them to everyone.

“As a prestigious person among the Khmer people, my responsibility is to promote legal propaganda activities, raise awareness among people, especially on issues of gender equality, domestic violence, environmental sanitation, crime prevention and control, and join hands to maintain security, order, and border security,” Ms. Keo Onl shared.

By preserving and promoting good traditional values, Keo Rinh (the fourth child, born in 1974) and Keo Ranl (born in 1985, the youngest child) are always aware of their responsibility towards every inch of land and sacred milestone of the Fatherland. Therefore, both brothers registered to join the local militia force.

According to Mr. Keo Rinh, after participating in military service and returning to his hometown, he joined the regular militia force of Bo Lon hamlet. During the course of carrying out his duties, he and the militia force were not afraid of hardships and made efforts to maintain peace at the border.

As for Keo Ranl, since he was a militia soldier, he has upheld his sense of responsibility, ready to overcome all difficulties and dangers to successfully complete his assigned tasks. He was assigned by the Commune Military Command to be the Chief of the Bo Lon Militia Post.

Keo Ranl shared: “I am very proud to be a Khmer youth who is able to join the ranks of the Communist Party of Vietnam and work in the armed forces. In addition to coordinating patrols, we also regularly remind our fellow ethnic people to comply with the law, build a cultural life in residential areas, and not listen to the enticements and incitements of bad people.”

Not only striving to improve and spreading good values to the community, Ms. Keo Onl, Mr. Keo Rinh, and Keo Ranl also propagate to their children and grandchildren about the sense of responsibility to the Fatherland and living a useful life for society.

Thanks to everyone's encouragement, his brother-in-law, Binh Xa Met (born in 1973), made an effort to become a militia soldier so that he could join hands and contribute to protecting the border and landmarks, keeping peace in the locality.

In addition, Mr. Binh Xa Met also regularly encourages and reminds family members to work hard and comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws. His son, Binh Hia (a party member), after completing his military service and returning to his hometown, has actively worked, increased production to improve his life, and actively participated in maintaining security and order in the locality.

Or Keo Sa Rach (Keo Rinh's son) was "passed on the fire" by his father. Fully aware of the responsibility of a young man to the Fatherland, when he graduated from high school in 2022, he volunteered to join the army.

Keo Sa Rach shared: “My family always cares for me and explains to me clearly about the responsibilities and obligations of young people of the prescribed age to perform military service and contribute their youth to the Fatherland. I hope that I will always be steadfast in life, promote family traditions, live a useful life for the community, and contribute to building an increasingly prosperous and developed locality.”

The joint efforts of Mr. Keo Chum and Mrs. Pal Sap to protect the border, landmarks, maintain security and order in the locality, and spread good values to life through many generations are very valuable and widespread. Although Mr. Keo Chum and Mrs. Pal Sap have passed away, the generations of children and grandchildren in the family always remember their kind teachings, strive to rise up, overcome difficulties and make positive contributions to the locality./.
