The meeting took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Diplomatic Service (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025). This is an activity rich in political and humanistic significance, expressing the deep gratitude of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the great sacrifices and contributions of heroic martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution, while affirming the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" - the noble traditional values of the Vietnamese people and the Diplomatic Service.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his deep gratitude to the families of war invalids and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the noble revolutionary ideals. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the sacrifices of previous generations are a solid foundation for our country to gain independence, unity and increasingly develop sustainably in peace , integration and international cooperation.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong affirmed that, throughout 80 years of formation and development, the Vietnamese diplomatic sector has always inherited and promoted the spirit of patriotism, revolutionary will, and national pride - values that have been cultivated through generations. The cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers who are relatives of war invalids and martyrs today continue to be the ones to preserve and promote that precious tradition with their sense of responsibility, dedication, and efforts to contribute to their work.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that caring for people with revolutionary contributions is not only a political responsibility but also a sacred moral duty of the whole society. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs always strives to implement policies for people with revolutionary contributions, ensuring practical care both materially and spiritually, considering this part of the mission of building a humane and compassionate diplomacy.
The delegates also expressed their deep gratitude for the attention and thoughtful care of the Party Committee, the Ministry's leaders and functional units; affirming that humanitarian activities such as today's meeting are a great source of spiritual encouragement, adding motivation for the staff to continue promoting family traditions and successfully completing assigned tasks.
In addition, many opinions suggested that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to promote traditional education work throughout the sector, especially for the younger generation of cadres, to preserve and spread the core values of people's diplomacy, diplomacy for the Fatherland, and serving the people.
The meeting is an opportunity to share and spread the spirit of gratitude and pride in family traditions, national traditions and the traditions of the diplomatic sector. This is also an opportunity to arouse the will, aspiration and responsibility of each cadre, civil servant, public employee and worker in continuing to strive and make positive contributions to the cause of building a modern, professional and comprehensive diplomacy - for the Fatherland, for the people, for the aspiration to develop a strong country.
