This is the most important professional tournament for young athletes in the national chess competition system. Therefore, the tournament brings together nearly 1,300 athletes from 53 units.
The tournament featured recent world youth chess medalists such as: Dau Khuong Duy, Nguyen Vu Bao Chau, Nguyen Le Cam Hien, Nguyen Nam Kiet, Nguyen Hong Nhung, Nguyen Truong An Khang, Dinh Nho Kiet, Nguyen Minh Chi, etc., along with many national and international young masters.

Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Chess Federation Nguyen Minh Thang said: “ The tournament promises to be a dramatic competition between young talents. At the same time, it will also provide more motivation for young players who are just starting their chess training journey .”
Playgrounds for intellectual sports have received the attention of many families and parents. Chess has long been considered a suitable sport for many children in big cities - where there is not much space for outdoor sports. Chess also helps young people practice thinking, concentration, patience, and is a good supplement for cultural studies.
The sponsor representative also shared that accompanying the tournament, including bringing vitamin products to young chess players, is expected to help them have the opportunity to improve their physical strength at the tournament. At the same time, it clearly shows the effect of health care in chess training and competition.
At the 2024 National Youth Chess Championship for the Doppelherz Cup, athletes will compete for 160 sets of individual and team medals for men and women in 10 age groups in 4 competitions: Standard chess, rapid chess, blitz chess, traditional chess (for players who have never won individual or team medals at national and international tournaments).
The tournament is expected to close on June 3.
