Nearly 103,000 Hanoi students take 10th grade entrance exam

On the morning of June 7, nearly 103,000 candidates in Hanoi officially entered the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year with the Literature subject. They will take the exam in the form of an essay and complete the test within 120 minutes.

Records at some exam locations show that the weather today is relatively cool and pleasant, favorable for candidates to take the exam and for parents waiting for their children outside. Traffic is basically clear, with no congestion at exam locations.

As early as 6:30 a.m., many students were present at the exam site, taking the opportunity to review their knowledge, especially social discussion topics. According to many candidates, this year the Literature subject will be tested according to the new general education program, the language materials are not in the textbooks, so they are a bit worried.

Although the Literature test starts at 8:00 a.m., according to regulations, candidates need to be present in the exam room at least 60 minutes before the test start time to complete procedures and stabilize their mentality.

Parents wait for their children outside the exam site.

According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, during the study session on regulations and exam procedures, the whole city had 201 exam locations, 4,411 exam rooms and 201 spare exam rooms. The number of candidates present was 102,365/102,860, reaching a rate of 99.52%; the whole city was absent 495 candidates because they could determine to go to vocational training or private schools. Notably, the whole city had 11 candidates who needed assistance with taking the exam due to health problems and needed medical support.

At the examination sites, the facilities serving the examination sites are fully prepared according to regulations. 100% of the examination sites have coordinated with security forces and police to fully prepare plans to ensure safety and security in the examination site and the area outside the examination site gate; each examination site has a backup generator.
