Faced with the increasing trend of traffic accidents involving foreigners driving self-driving rental vehicles, the Traffic Police Department of Kien Giang Province has organized direct working sessions with owners of self-driving car rental service establishments. The main content is to disseminate road traffic laws, instruct on checking customers' driving licenses and safety conditions before delivering the vehicle.

According to Major Luu Hong Lam, Deputy Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 2 - Standing Team in Phu Quoc City under the Traffic Police Department of Kien Giang Province, representatives of car rental establishments are required to sign a commitment to strictly comply with the provisions of the law. In particular, it emphasizes the responsibility of not handing over vehicles to people who are not qualified to drive the vehicle, especially international tourists who do not have a valid driving license in Vietnam. This activity not only raises awareness of law compliance among businesses but is also a solution to prevent and reduce traffic accidents, ensuring safety for tourists and residents.

Previously, CAND Newspaper published an article reflecting on the situation of foreigners disregarding traffic safety in Phu Quoc, violating traffic safety, affecting the safety of lives and vehicles of traffic participants and the tourism image of the locality.
